to meet new people, create friendships for when you are ready to meet, keep in contact with friends, could be a number of reasons why people dont want to meet, could even be the heat.who knows, plenty on here who do want to meet. |

Chatrooms, forums, keeping up with friends, socials ....lots of reasons.
Many put it on their profile when they have too much mail to cope with, or enough meets organised.
Lots will put not meeting when the kids are off school on their holidays.
All or some of the above have been my reasons over the years. |

As I am ill presently I have up "No Meets". However, I am bored of resting and do read the Forums, does not mean I want to come on and write back tons of messages and meet someone right now. Think men come on all the time expecting you are online so therefore you are available. |

I have a serious addiction to the forums and don't want to meet new people as I have a fb from here who keeps me busy atm. But after being a member on and off for years there are lots of people I just like to chat with and this way is easiest x
Thankfully fab let users take what they want from the site and not demand to have a meet a week to be allowed continued use  |

some of them have been mine as well....
I don't get the fuss... for some it is a sex site 24/7... for others is a community of like-minded people where you can drift in and out without issues....
surely there must be enough people that do what to play so you don't have to concentrate on those who aren't at this time... |

I've just completely changed my profile after an epiphany last night. I'm no longer looking for NSA, does that mean I can't use the site?
I'm already getting grief from someone I was chatting to. Just because we've exchanged a few clean, non explicit mails for a week he expected to meet for sex. He is now very pissed off I've "changed the rules"
So I can't change my mind and have to put out to be on here??? Really?  |

How about the ones that joined the site, met and had plenty of fun. Then work and family pressures meant they couldn't meet (focus on the word "couldn't") but have every intention of playing again in the future? In the meantime, they choose to use the site to keep in touch with established friends and use the forums? ....or is really that wrong that because they have a profile they MUST be flat on their backs shagging 24/7?   |

Dont see what it matters so long as they state they are not lookig for meets
Everyones here for their own reason and not everyone sees joining a site just to chat/cam to people as a waste of time, if thats all they are after then they are getting what they want from the site |

We once drove into a petrol station and did not purchase a single drop!..instead we purchased a pack of cigarettes, a couple of sandwiches and drinks. We really don't know why it was called a petrol station. We didn't want or need petrol. Luckily for us though, the attendant understood as there were other items for sale and services offered ie car wash and even dry-cleaning, so she had no expectation that we must by petrol, and was happy for us to merely use the facility for the other services it offered. |

We've not met anyone for the last year...However we met people at least 30 weekends every year since 2005.
Sometimes you get jaded and need a break from things, thats us at the moment! Doesn't stop us wanting to keep in contact with friends we have made over the years though does it? |

When I last checked the rules, I never saw the one which stated that in order to be a member of the site that you had to meet .....
Has it never occurred to you that the member could be ill, have family staying with them or that they are just generally pissed off and can't be arsed to meet for a few weeks.?
That kind of thing does happen you know ..... |

I've read complaints on here for a variety of things.
Age limits, no single guys, married/playing away.
This site is a fair reflection of Britain's favourite national passtime. Telling others how to run their lives and then complaining when don't do it!

People take breaks for all different reasons, most of which are stated above but fully intend to play again, there is no rule that just because you are not meeting you have to delete your profile, some do but most don't, if you and your partner had to stop for any of the given reasons, would you delete and then come back and have to start all over again as newbies after loosing all your veri's? |

We put "not meeting at the moment" on our profile at the beginning of April due to the fact that my daughter was seriously ill intensive care! We didn't want to delete our account and we stayed in touch with some of our friends on here who were of great support through a very tough 3 weeks or so!
Much easier putting it on our profile instead of having to explain why we weren't meeting to individual messages! |

Too many people on this site let silly things get to them! Like the fact that some people put "not meeting at the moment" as others have said some people don't wish to actually meet. Just wish to cam or even chat in the forums or in chat room! Why is it anyone's concern what others have or don't have on their profile?

I'm not meeting at the moment as I've got a lot on for the summer and don't want new people to mail me. I'm still on to chat to friends and also look at forums.
Also because constant mails from single blokes and couples that think I'm just a piece of meat have put me off meeting. |

The key is "Moment"! Its not never but its not now and fab as a site actively promotes hiding profiles rather than deleting.
So the point is they may meet next week, next month or next year but not right now. I hope that clears your quandary up and you can sleep at nights. |

Yep, constant mail put us off too. Apart from friends and acquaintances, we have blocked all incoming mail now as our short little "not meeting at the moment" got ignored by some single guys and couples.

when i'm meeting i meet prolifically, even more than one meet a day on occasion. But currently i'm working away a lot and meeting while sharing a corporate apartment with colleagues is not going to happen. And when i'm home i might just want to slob, or only meet people i already know. I haven't put "not currently looking for new meets" on my profile but i have said it to a few. Normal service will resume, but why should i delete or hide my profile between now and then? |

Just picking up on thos topic
I guess it everything to do with circumstances ie;
1. The married people "playing away" are at mercy of thier partners movements
2. Work commitments
3. Holidays
4. Taking a break from meeting foe sex; a very common and sometimes sensible attitude to have

We have been on this site for about six years and in that time a lot of circumstances and priorities have changed.
At the moment we don't feel like meeting others for sex but we are still enjoying having fun taking pics and posting them for a giggle.
The site is something different from the normal every day things we do.
We have a choice to do what we feel is right for us and everyone on this site has that same choice. |

We can go one better than 'not meeting'..we dont meet at all..(apart from a one off that was strictly social) but it doesn't stop us paying our subscription,chatting to lovely people and enjoying the site in general..
We have never felt obliged to meet people from here and 99.999% of people wouldnt want to meet us anyway as we have nothing to offer..
Its just a website..not a way of life. |
