Simply put, when you went out for the first time as a TV/TS, what were your thoughts and feelings both before and afterwards.

Went to the Northern Concord in Manchester, a Trans support group. Got wolf whistled by a bunch of builders however also laughed at by the same builders.

Canal street in Manchester has many memories of going out now over the years, but that first time scary and liberating

My first time "out" was at a party with some people I had met before, some who knew I dressed. Incredibly scary and thrilling beforehand. Surrounding myself with people tolerant of dressing made it such a fantastic night that afterwards I wish I'd done it many years ago. Pamela has been out a few times since.

Scary as hell went to a pub and played pool, plenty of guy's shaking their head's and muttering, but I felt elated and strangely aroused as I knew they were looking at me whilst I was bending over taking shots, I was wearing a mini skirt so they could see my knickers, not too much but just enough, only stayed for an hour

My first time going out was to a gay bar in Newcastle on a quiet Sunday evening. I remember thinking I'll not be the first TV to come in here.

It felt so natural and it was amazing been out in front of complete strangers, I was accompanied so felt safe. It was such a buzz.

Second time was with a small group of us, a guy from a stag group came up behind me and asked if I would do a lap dance for the groom. It was so funny when they realized x

The first time was nerve wracking, but once out and meeting others, it's so lovely and you'll wonder why you didn't do it sooner.

It makes it easier if you're meeting someone as then you're less likely to back out.

I'm out and about all the time now xx

My first time was with an ex girlfriend, we went to Candygirls. It felt sexy and empowering. I had a lot of attention from the boys in the dark room and cinema with my ex encouraging me to be a total slut ! Wasn’t what I initially planned but felt very natural at the time. Prior to this incarceration I’m out once a week at various places.

Candy girls was my first time at night .a very sexualised environment. Moved on to pink punters .first time out in the day was london pride 7 years ago. V nervous but the best thing I could have done for my mental stability .living a double life was a head fuck

My advice for going out for the first time, plan way ahead. Decide where you're going, what you'll wear and ensure the shoes you choose are comfortable

Plenty of clubs and venues or just a walk around the block. Just don't end up regretting any chance you have, no guarantee that bad things won't happen in certain circumstances, but chances are you'll just end up feeling free and liberated.

This is such a lovely thread! There’s so much that chimes with how I’ve felt or experienced..

My “first times” I see as being many, similar to Claire..

My first first time was going to meet my gf from the station. She already knew Tanja but I’d hidden her from the scary big world. So I dressed, got in the car and went out, went up to the platform to go and meet her and kissed her in public as Tanja for the first time.. we then went for out for a bit into Manchester.. it was exciting, invigorating and nervous.

JJ Gemini, do try TBirds! They are so welcoming! Gloria, I’m not sure if I saw you at the Christmas party (it’s a bit of a blur now) but if I did or the time before that then thank you! You and all the other Tbird patrons were so welcoming! I can’t wait to get back there!

I went to a translife event in Brighton many years ago, I was shitting myself walking from the underground car park t the event. There was about 10 of us walking together, we got some crap from a bunch of piss heads which didn't help my nerves.

Once into the event it was fabulous, I loved it so much.

So much respect for you ladies having the courage to be who you want to be. Must be so tough.

Every one of you who have been brave makes it a bit easier for the next person to take the plunge and live the lives they can.

Leeds

I found it liberating, more than anything. Exciting, yes, but I had this feeling of being another person, and of being accepted as a woman. This was probably in Sheffield or Manchester, but it was especially true in my home of Leeds. That would have been in the tranny clubs at first. I avoid them now, but they have their place to get you out there.

Only started 6 years ago and went to Eureka on Saturday night by myself and had a fantastic time, very nervous but excited.

Not into tranny clubs as they tend to be seedy and full of desperate people.

Yes. Err nervous and scary but it disappears as the sky didn’t fall in and no one photographed and pointed at me ! Actually to walk past two ladies on the pavement who just , well didn’t see me ! Look at women and see what they wear in a similar situation , no total

stripogram while walking in a residential area !
