I never get these, but i woke up this morning and everything hurts! Bright lights hurt my eyes, theres a constant pain in my head, i was sick this morning also
Iv slept on and off this morning which seems to have helped. However, this is only because my 3 year old is at nursery today. Tomorrow he isnt so napping isnt an option i have.
Any drinks that help? Im assuming i should avoid caffein?
Owchies! |

Try clean your nose reguraly with water and salt. Then bath with warm compares on head. Try relaxing music and a lot of drinking water. If it's hormones check the level on it. For me the best medicine was my ex partner. Haven't got migraines for 1year |

There are quite a few triggers for migraines- all unique to the individual. There are 'preventer' pills you can get on prescription, which work quite well if you get an aura and can catch it in time. |

If you can take codeine then try and get some migralieve pinks. They have an anti sickness drug in them.
Dark cool room and sleep. Once the aura / sickness goes you might be left with what I unaffectionatly call a migraine hangover.
It's a headache that you can exist with, get on with your day etc, but it's there, makes bright lights sting a bit and essentially feel like that wooly head with headache after a drinking session.... That you've just got to power through.
For now, sleep, put the phone down, keep the room dark and relax as best you can. |

Paracetamol, small amount of coffee or maybe coca cola I get migraines all the time and that's all that usually helps. Failing that 1 or 2 puffs of instant relief |

Caffeine helps mine.
Take 225mg of aspirin but NO IBUPROFEN. only take these once a day and for no longer than 3 days.
Search migraine relief music on YouTube. Put earphones in and have it as loud as you can. Focus on that.
Sleep as much as possible.
Drink plenty.
If it gets worse you can get pills from a doctor that will stop it. Most of the time it will be zolmitriptan or another type of tripitan.
Good luck |

In a migraine clinic i was told to take migraine medication with a fizzy drink as the fizzy helps the medication be absorbed. Often during a migraine your stomach shuts down and the medication isnt absorbed. |

If you start getting them regularly think of the following
Sleep - fatigue can be a trigger
Stress/anxiety - not always obvious
Hydration - drink enough till your wee is pale yellow
Eyes - get an eye test in case you need specs
Caffeine - it’s actually a caffeine withdrawal effect that triggers headaches. So if you get lots, trial complete caffeine exclusion for 4 weeks and see if they go (but might get worse to start)
If none of the above help there are preventer drugs and drugs that can turn off migraines. Take pain relief the moment you feel them coming on and don’t wait till they’re agony.
Hope you’re better soon |

Dark quiet room, cold wet flannel on my head and Codeine .. either Solphadeen which dissolves in water or Migraleve pink .. there was a shortage of the pink pills but seem to be back in chemists now .
As said before if they become regular need to work out the trigger .. usually food
Feel your pain

I’m on a medication called sumatriptan for migraine and they work well so long as I catch it at the first signal. I used to sometimes put a sprig of lavender under my pillow, before I was prescribed this, which I’d heard helped and worked for me. Hope you’re feeling better now. Mine last for days sometimes |

Another vote for sumatriptan. I carry it everywhere with me just in case, I had a migraine while out in the car a while ago, I couldn't see due to the aura. I was parked up at the time.
My worst migraine lasted 16 days, hospitalised 3 times during that attack and brain scan showed a cavernoma. Wouldn't wish it on anyone.
If it becomes regular see the doctor. I hope you're better now x |

Sumatriptan is what works for me also, its normally prescription only but I have managed to blag migralieve (contains sumatriptan) from a chemist but they have been funny about it in the past and it is quite expensive. |
