Consenting to my pictures being used (or not as the case may be!)

I've recently has an unsuccessful meet, unfortunately things didn't go to plan, I felt overwhelmed and asked them both to leave. They were incredibly respectful and left, I appreciated that.

I find out today there are pictures of me being used on one of the profiles, I've been blocked by him so couldn't report.

I'm unhappy they are being used as I wa completely unaware they had been take! they're of me and I should have say if they are displayed or not.

What should I do?

Report to admin

Ask them to contact you

I would like to think the rule of common decency should apply and they wouldn’t have put them up in the first place without your explicit consent (and they’d realistically have been wrong in that situation to even ask) but certainly they should take them down.

If your really concerned about the photos then go to the police! If they were taken without your permission and posted online without your permission then its illegal.

He has blocked my profile. I've messaged him on Kik and asked him to remove and he's lying and saying they're not me. I've reported to admin. Just apprehensive and want them removed.

Have you someone to screenshot them in case you need evidence

south west !

We had a couple of pictures stolen by another profile, we reported it to admin and they acted within 48 hours.

Admin messaged us to reassure action was being taken.

Just keep report them, I'm sure they will take it seriously

Hope you get things sorted.

Xx

If they took them without consent then it's illegal regardless of what they do with them.

If you feel able to, call the police non-emergency number and tell them someone took pictures of you during sex without telling you. They'll take it seriously.

Thank you all for your comments. I have screen shots, I've reported to admin, I have asked him to remove and delete year he has uploaded to his profile again.

I'm going to report to the police I think, it's a shame.

Stupid question i know but are you sure its you.

Do you need to have someone double check in case you're wrong.

Obviously if its a face pic you know but apart from that are you 100%

Not sure the police will do much to be honest apart from note it down.

I queried in this forum thread if they had her face on show, the OP didn't reply. If they don't I very much doubt the police will give a damn.

it comes under the revenge porn laws that were brought in to protect people from this sort of thing ... the police will take it seriously

Only if there's a face pic otherwise there's no proof surely

No, it's a crime regardless and finding evidence is the police's job, not the victim's.

Prosecutions are notoriously low but this is partly because people don't report it (though I understand why they might not want to). But remember if he's done that to you he's likely to have done it to others too (and to continue doing it to others) so your report might contribute to a bigger case now or in the future.

Reporting a crime also doesn't mean you need to follow through with prosecution.

I'm not going to explain how but there are many ways to analyse digital photographs which mean you do not need to have a picture of someones face to positively identify them as a victim.

The offence of taking a photo of a sexual nature without the other persons consent is a criminal offence, publishing it is another separate offence. If the photographs were taken without the victims knowledge then there is a strong possibility that they person who did this has other photos that will identify the victim clearly anyway.

Given that this is a serious sexual offence I would expect the police to take it very seriously (if they don't keep reporting it until someone listens).

O o O oo

Admin always deal with reports of stolen pics / someone using your pics without permission.

You won't normally hear anything back when reporting people but in this case you will, a mail to say they are looking into it and then one if it is resolved.

You can still report a profile even if blocked, either from a mail you have exchanged or from the blue menu to the left of the profile where you will still see the report button
