Hey all!

So we have never been to a club before and I (female) find the idea really nerve wracking and seriously don’t have a clue what to expect. We haven’t actually done anything as yet but are really keen to get down and dirty. We have talked about it for a long time!

I’ve found so far I’ve been really picky/fussy when it comes to messaging people so gathered it would be better to see a load of people in person at a club... if that makes sense.

Any advice/recommendations for newbies please. In the North West area.

Go to a club not expecting to play, just to figure out the scene. See what you make of it. My top recommendation is Club SX in Blackpool, very social, you don't have to dress down in all areas.

Townhouse on the Wirral is perfect for newbies.... especially on their Newbies and Notso night. There's one coming up on 13 Feb I think. The staff are fantastic and look after new people. There's no pressure to play. You can sit in the bar area and eye everyone up if you want to....and then go upstairs to 'dress down' if you feel comfortable enough.

All good advice..... Possibly pick a "couples night", unless of course single guys are your preferred choice...

A lot of people will advise you to go to THEIR favourite club. But do some research on each club before you go.

For instance, do you want to stay dressed till you want to get changed, or will you be happy changing into clubwear as soon as you enter the club ?

Do you need to stay over at a club or in a hotel nearby ? If so, see which clubs do on-site accommodation or have a hotel really close.

Then, as lots of clubs do different theme nights have a look at each club's website to see what event they are promoting on the night you can go. Be daft to turn up to a club which is couples only on the night when you might also want single guys.

Put all those items together and then make your choice. Be aware that you might have to take ID to join some clubs where others will let you in without ID, just by stating your name, real or made up.

And just to add our fav. club, it's Xtasia in West Brom.

No means no, gender irrelevant. Only do what you are comfortable doing and if someone applies pressure then that in itself is a reason to say no.

As has been suggested, look at which clubs offer what you're looking for.

Quite a selection in Manchester

Beyond the shadows.

You could try going to an organised social that’s being held at a club or even one that’s not held at club, some people go to clubs afterwards so at least you’d know some people when you get to the club. Good way to dip your toe in the water.

Definitely well said, townhouse is by far our favourite club, we were ridiculously nervous when we first went but within under 5 minutes being there we were made to feel so welcome and settled, we had a huge stigma around swinging clubs and the type of people who attend and that it would dingy and seedy this is waaaaay off haha, the people who go to townhouse are so friendly and do not pressure at all and the club itself is so lush xx

You've picked a fun first night to attend! I'll see you there most likely. As someone else said, there are various clubs in the NW, all with different rules and types of events. Check out the reviews on here and have a nose at websites to see what facilities they have. My personal favourite is Townhouse. I nervously attended on my own back in 2017 and now they can't get shut of me lol. I also head to Cupid's in Manchester and plan to visit a few others too x

If you go on the website for most clubs you can see detailed desriptions of their different events. Choose what you think will suit you best in terms of who can attend, the theme, if it's specifically aimed at new people, if it's more social or more hard-core, etc.

Most clubs have a social only area which means you can settle in at first while just having a drink and nothing too eye bulging to see beyond some people being a little scantily dressed. Check the events though as some events allow play in the social areas.

I’m also interested in townhouse as it’s my nearest, problem is I’m a little shy and totally new to this I don’t know what to expect. Reading these messages has give me some idea but I’m still a little unsure.

We would recommend cupids. Also we are all nervous the first time, but trust me it's not a screaming orgy where you will be manhandled on entry.

In fact it may surprise or disappoint you how normal and shy we all are even though we all know why we are there.

Don't be afraid to engage people you like in conversation, if they are sat down just ask if they mind you joining them.

Hi x don't forget that you are going together, so if even if you get there and can't find anyone suitable.. There are private lockable rooms in most clubs... So dive in one..!!
