Enjoyment with oral using these protection, but what’s sex without oral? |

I never have done, and have never been asked to. In the grand scheme of things, the risk is low enough to accept for me.
However, I'd happily wear a condom to "receive" if a woman requested it. Using a dental dam for cunnilingus would ruin the act for me, but again if it was requested I'd go along with it - assuming that she had one, or one could be improvised from my condoms! |

You can catch stds from oral without however it's more unlikely. How it was explained to me is if someone has a bacterial std like gonorrhea, chlamydia then the std infection is caught in your tonsils. Which then can spread to your system but is unlikely. So if you've ever given anyone oral and got tonsillitis it's probably worth mentioning that you gave someone oral. However if someone has aids/hiv then this spreads to your bloodstream. Obviously if someone had herpes then you should likely be able to tell and should never perform oral without protection.
The risks of catching an std without someone ejaculating into your mouth is really low. Higher if they do. But higher for men giving oral to women. That's how the nurse explained it to me.
So even though I don't sleep with guys unprotected I still get an std test every 3 months because I personally perform oral without unless someone says on their profile they have sex unprotected (or if people ask me to) and then it'll be a flat no from me and I wouldn't meet them. |

I had to post after reading the above post... I am a registered nurse, I completely support raising awareness for others.. but just because someone tells you something doesn’t make it true. So be careful when you write something as a fact.
Anyone with any common sense would be aware of the risks involved in any un-protected sexual activity ... clearly you wouldn’t suck someone’s cock if it was covered in sores but the herpes virus can still be passed even when the sores are dormant.
Yes chlamydia can be passed and develop in the throat ... the risk is higher if you swallow the semen...
But in regards to HIV this a really low level risk... it is a virus which lives in the bloodstream it can only enter your bloodstream if you have an open sore/lesion in your mouth or throat which would provide a direct route...you don’t absorb it into your body in any other way.

I had a male friend who caught chlamydia from receiving oral. It was only 2nd time he’d strayed and unfortunately he passed it on to his wife before he knew he had it.
The risks are very real! |
