"Just taken delivery of a couple of these milkshake things.....
So; can I survive if I replace all three meals with them? "
Well you won't die...but it's not healthy, sustainable or pleasant to do. And most likely if you do lose weight you will put it back on in the near future. |

Yes they work I was on mutant mass a 6000 calorie replacement but you must exercise while on the product other wise you end up putting weight on
Unless it's the slim fast stuff that is actually meant for dieting then you should be ok
Bare in mind a healthy diet and exercise will trump any fad any day of the week |

Everyone is different but no one needs this shake nonsense. Try low carb... Skip breakfasts (easy to get used to) and a cheese / ham salad type thing for lunch, any low carb meals for dinner. Working for us really well without counting calories or paying through the nose for gimmicks. |

The trick to getting in shape is making sustainable better changes. Reduce processed foods, particularly sugar. Eat more veg. It really is as simple as that. I used to do it in my twenties to shred up prior to a job, always worked. And if you do it right, you will not be lethargic and devoid of essential nutrients.
If you are looking for a quickish fix though, if I had to stick my neck out I'd recommend either the dukan diet or going veggie/vegan for a fortnight. |

Never used mutant mass to replace meals, only to bulk meals up.
I wouldn’t bother with the shakes, everyone I know who has used them, the weight will just come straight back on when you finish them. Better off just eating normal foods in a calorie deficit. |

The veggie thing won’t work for me. I’ve not eaten meat since ‘93. I do eat some fish tho. |

Have a look at lowering your carb intake. I don't mean keto just cutting back. You will probably lose weight slowly but its sustainable long term.
I had to cut back on carbs for health reasons and its relatively easy to incorporate into every day eating |

This, basically low carb combined with intermittent fasting, is healthy, sustainable and effective. |

"Just taken delivery of a couple of these milkshake things.....

I did a month and a half on only huel (3 a day) as an experiment for a meal source on a cycling holiday. Would not recommend though they can be good as a once in a while.
I was fine but it was terribly dull and my body never properly adapted to, what was essentially, a liquid diet. |

You will last a few weeks most , then you will get ill and put on more weight than previously. If you wish to lose weight
1. Exercise 1 hr daily
2. Drink 2 litres of water
3. Eat 5/6 small meals a day
4. vegetarian 5 days
5. Chicken/Fish remaining 2 days
6. Hot Lemon water every morning
7. Wine/ beer only on Saturdays (free day)
If you wish to know more send me a pm and will tell you how to maintain weight and normal lifestyle. If you don't good luck its easy once you start and give up that shite. |

Was told by my nutritionist that skipping breakfast was the meal i shouldn't ever skip as it starts the metabolism

Yes, that's true.
My biggest intake of the day is breakfast.
Lighter and lighter intake as the day goes on.
Plenty of water and a few miles of walking, too.

Put two of the sachets away. With the other sachet, every time you eat a meal put the sachet over your food. Any food that's under the sachet you leave. Simple. |

I'm vegan and I gained a stone and a half in 3 months last year. When I first went vegan I did lose weight. And gaining weight was my crazy binge eating (long story) |

"Just go Vegan, hubby lost 2 stone in 5 months...."
I put a stone on when I went veggie. Mainly because when I was eating meat I actually wasn’t. Never finished a meal cos I didn’t like it.
I’m not going to start eating meat after all these years just to lose weight tho. |

Well I’m a stone heavier than I was a year ago. I’m on hrt and I know I’ll gain some as my boobs develop etc
I’m recently single but my ex bf took to ‘affectionately’ calling me his ‘chubby little girlfriend’. That’s kinda stuck in my mind as I’d gained weight.
I suck my tummy in when I take photos. |

Oh that's shitty. Chunky Monkey has such a nicer ring to it! :D Sorry... couldn't resist.
Hope you get to where you want to be. It's always about making yourself feel good, not others. As long as it stays physically and mentally healthy. |

First of all my only advice is be happy with who you are. But
Hrt will make you gain weight and that's just a hormonal thing. If you're already vegetarian then I'd probably advise doing a little more exercise but if you can't be bothered with that then either ask your doctor about a course of Hrt that doesn't make you gain weight OR cut our carbs. I would try some fad diet when your weight gain is in relation to hormones.
Final advice! Be happy with who you are. I know I already said it but being confident in who you are regardless of size or comments will make you much happier than any diet. |

I started using Huel about 18 months ago as work patterns meant I was often either skipping meals or eating junk. I have one at breakfast and another at lunch, with a full cooked meal in the evening. The weight loss has been reasonable, but the biggest benefit has been in increased energy levels and less desire to snack between meals. It’s not for everyone (GG can’t stand the stuff!) but it’s worked out okay for me so far.

If it is weight you want to lose then just restrict your calorie intake.
I’ve been on an 1800 cal/day diet for a year. I gave up sugar, pudding, alcohol and I try to walk at least 2 miles a day.
I drink 2 x 200ml PHD diet protein shakes daily.
I’ve never felt better. |

Well day two has meandered past.
I had a shake for breakfast and one for lunch. Didn’t have a morning snack and I’ve just got back from rescuing my ex who now lives in a caravan. The awning had blown in so I’ve built a wooden frame for it. Feel like I’ve been pretty energetic doing that battling the wind.
I had two sticks of celery with a little bit of humous as a snack.
Now I’m supposed to make a meal limiting its calorific content so I’ll go and be inventive.
It’s been ok so far. |

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Your body needs it after going without food for hours. It kick starts your metabolism, increase brain function and overcomes any morning slugish feelings. If you want to skip a meal, you are better of skipping lunch. |

The best diet is the one that works for you that is sustainable and puts you overall in a daily calorie deficit.
The simple method is follow your usual diet but slightly cut back on portion size. This way you aren’t restricting yourself from any food you like. Combining this with an increased output, walk at lunchtime etc, will speed up the process.
Personally I never put clients on replacement shakes because you’ve changed the association with normal foods and this isn’t beneficial long term.
As we mature we do have to accept that our metabolism slows and age isn’t just a number
Good luck |

I did this for 10 months once and lost 10st. It worked for me but the first time is the 'golden time'... I've never managed to stick to it since. I regained 5st so it's not always true that you'll gain it 'all back plus more'. You just have to be 100% committed and not cheat at all.
I'm assuming it's a ketogenic diet... once you go into ketosis (takes about 4 days) your hunger disappears and you feel very charged with energy. Good luck! PM if you want any more info. |

We both eat huel for breakfast and sometimes to make up missing calories or when we're in a hurry and have no food in or can't be bothered to prepare something, we both find it works very well for us but would not want to live off it for every meal.
Best way we've found to track actual calorie burn is using a Garmin Vivoactive watch and recording food with myfitnesspal.
Male half of the couple needs to lose several kg of weight again, so now getting back into eating properly and getting to the gym after a hip injury in September meant cycling and running stopped entierly and that combined with pain killers as caused a lot of weight gain |

Going processed free has been the best thing for weight loss I found.. Similar to what was posted above.
Low carb
No sugar
Mostly vegetables, fish, chicken and whole foods.
2.5-3 ltrs water a day
Intermittent fasting (usually dinner eaten by 6pm latest and wait till lunch the next day however I switch this up to keep the metabolism working)
And using a lot of turmeric and garlic for there anti inflammatory properties.
I lost 4 stone in 4 months and have started again recently and dropped a stone in the first 3 weeks.
My meal portions are still large, I'm not hungry and find my autoimmune disease is helped by it.
As humans we never had a steady supply of food to eat 3 meals or more a day.. Our digestive systems need a break.
