What’s a reasonable threshold for reporting another user for being abusive?
I’ve just received a (completely unprovoked) really insulting message from someone as a follow up to a rather tasteless opener that I ignored. I thought about replying but bizarrely the chap had blocked me.
I feel like people who can’t be civil should probably be sanctioned in some way but perhaps I’m being too sensitive.
Anyway, I’d be interested to know where people draw the line between asshole behaviour that can be ignored, and when someone should actually be reported.

I reported someone yesterday because when I asked him why he'd used photos from a gay porn site he said that for reasons of privacy he didn't want to use photos of himself and that he'd met women and they'd not noticed that he was a different man

I’ve reported vile messages, but nothing was done. I’ve reported several guys using models or other users pics, nothing’s been done. |

I’ve received abusive mail.
Reported it. But then you get blocked straight after from said profile.

He sent me an real photo of himself (I set him a challenge) and all I can say is it must have been dark 
He was attractive enough, but he did not look like the photos...hell the photos were clearly of 4 different men! |

They just block the two profiles from messaging each other. The only one I've reported who got removed was the guy who told me to die of aids. The standard "fat bitch" ones, nothing happens apart from a mutual block from each other so they'll just send their abuse to someone else. |

You can report the person if you still have the message. Though as it has been stated I am not sure what is done about it. I do hear of people having their accounts taken off them but they soon seem to be back under a different name |

Or just make a new profile. I've been stalked for years by a guy who's made at least ten profiles in that time. |

I reported a female recently for naming me in her update. Jealousy is not good. She does not know me from Adam and it upset me. I reported her and she got a 3day ban. |

If you feel a message is abusive, report it. Admin read all reports and take action which I'll post under this.

Here is an explanation from Admin from another thread on how they deal with reports.
******Just a quick note. If people report others and we can verify that they have broken site rules, we always take action (either a first and final warning, partially suspended account, fully suspended, mixture of the above).
Every single report sent via the REPORT link is reviewed. Clearly it's not in our interests to have people on here who are bad for the site. Equally we need to verify what has been reported and be fair to those who have been reported.

PS. we never provide feedback on what has happened. It's just not practical given that we get 100s of reports a day.
Here is what the page says after a report has been submitted:
