I spent a full week before a meet feeling nauseous every waking hour. Definitely wouldn't introduce alcohol into the equation before a meet but yes I suffer terribly with nerves! |

"The day I don't get nervy before a new meet is the day I stop meeting.
It adds to the anticipation.
Agree 100% xx"
Totally agree - the nerves and excitement is what makes fab meets - FAB |

Yep, I get nervcited. A small glass of wine before a meet always helps the nervousness subside and let's the excitedness out. We have a meet in a couple of weeks and I've been nervous since we set the date.

Yes i get nervous. I don’t actually get excited about meets, they are what they are, but i get nervous about meeting someone new more than what the meet is about (if that makes sense?) because i’m an introvert and meeting new folk is actually quite a nightmare for me.
Still, not ready to die alone surrounded by cats quite yet, so have to force myself out there.
And I don’t drink alcohol on meets. |

I can relate. Meeting new people in person as part of what I study has been flippin' harrowing. It is less intense for socials, but it is kinda still there.
Prefer coffee to alcohol on meets. But I would say that |

I always meet for social only first so don't get nervous. I'm usually only half expecting them to turn up and then only half expecting for us to like each other. So I don't build myself up for anything for the social meet. Just go with the flow. |

Omg i was so nervous.. Terrified even lol, but super excited...
I got a postcode for an hotel and arrived in the car park. I sat for 5 mins or so to compose myself.
I got out of the car and took a couple of breathes. Reminded myself that the worst that could happen would be that he was an axe murderer which gave me the giggles
Then i put my hat on and got into my stride
I was shaking when the door opened, but the first 20 seconds happened exactly as I'd been told they would and then i started to calm down
It helped that i had agreed to call a friend after an hour to check in
Just keep breathing OP and remember, you have choices... If it's not working don't feel embarrassed to put a halt to it

Never get nervous
I enjoy the whole process, excited, yes, but not nervous. It’s on my terms. I suggest where to meet, in public, and if they don’t like me, well, it doesn’t happen often, but it’s fair enough. MYbe I won’t like them?
I’m mostly bothered that the meet will be a waste of my time.... |

Yes, everytime. But it's more that I'm not going to be what they expected so I end up getting into a flap.
I also have a drink every meet. Again not because of the guys themselves, but because of my own stupid insecurities. Not excessively, but I will end up with wine at some point.
Sin. |

Just remember, whatever anxious thoughts your having, they're thinking exactly the same things.
Failing that just imagine them naked... |

"I’ve always got super nervous before a meet to the point of almost backing out
Start doubting myself if they will like me
Always have a couple drinks before "

Even after quite a few years at meets, I still have nerves meeting up with people.
But, I tend to find that some informal discussion between us all, can reduce the tension or even make it disappear completely.
I've had ladies say they welcomed the talking too as it broke the ice and made it easier once the fun began.
