I can only speak for myself, but yes.
I quite often send an initial wink as it saves me having to think of witty openers.
My message filters are on, but if and when I turn them off, I will check my winks too. If the profile interests me I will wink back and then chatting can commence.
Some people don’t like them at all though I think. |

Prefer a wink to 'u meetin' or 'fancy a fuk' messages I usually get.
The only issue is, if they don't have such a great profile, a polite and intelligent message can usurp a profile that's lacking information or interest. Whereas a wink will never make up for a boring and generic profile. |

Oh prefer them to messages! I check out their profile and if I like what I see then I'll wink back ... it makes me laugh though when they then don't message but noone has wasted time or effort so no worries! |

They've never yet worked when I've instigated them, but if I receive them I see it as a "feel free to message me/us" signal and it starts off the conversation with someone who is a potential match. |

I very rarely follow up winks as they don't tell me if the winker has actually read the profile or only gone as far as pics. Messages give much better insight. |

"Purely in the name of research
Does sending winks work ?
"
Yes they do work. Have had many good meets as a result of receiving and sending winks. I find the wink is a good option to
express quickly that there is an attraction. |

I always think a smile option would be better than a wink after all if you were out and about and some one caught your eye you would smile at them not wink.
I do wink on here though as a means to say "I like what I see or have read" |

Winks tend to work for me when I send them... But I'm one of those annoying privileged women who has a huge ratio of single men to be picky from.
I say that, cos winks don't work on me. I am looking for something specific, so ignore winks and friends requests.
I ignore messages that don't include the codeword on my profile too. Which is over 80% of the messages I get.
Only interested in guys who have read and understood what I'm looking for.
With so many messages from people who haven't bothered to read my profile, I assume those who winks really haven't taken the time. |

Not at all here. Wish there was an option to turn it off actually.
Same goes for 'how is your day', 'nice tits', 'do you want to see me cum ', etc. Just No. |

"I like a wink. I’ve used them before to reach out and happily received them too. I think they’re useful with strangers. I’d much rather receive a wink than a message from a stranger actually. "
Same here and says on my profile (when it's not hidden) |
