Is it okay to lie about your location? We live in a small northern town, we had no idea so many people we know are swingers or cheating on their partners lol.
Kinda freaked out and changed the location, hope this isn't frowned upon. Actually working out very well as we travelled to our supposed area for our 1st meet....... |

Yes. Use whichever location settings that will likely work for you. Close enough to be practically useful to not deter the right people but potentially vague or misdirecting enough to retain your privacy. If you contact those who you like, you can inform them of the relevant details when you decide.
Obviously if all people did a large difference between actual and displayed data, it could make things hard here but not encourage you to explore different options, to get the right balance between privacy and success with partner meeting

Just use a nearby town and postcode. That esy you are still close enough for searches but you can check people on your doorstep. We don't meet anyone too local as it would be too easy to come across us generally in the town due to business interests. When I check who has looked at us but bot contacted I automatically block anyone that I can see immediately live in the same town or surrounding villages. |

Hi op
If you're up north and have London as a location,people may delete your message,as it would appear you are nowhere near them.
Plus you won't appear in their search if they use location.
As others said,maybe pick somewhere nearish that's larger .No need to specify exactly where you are.

I move about a lot (and explain that in my profile).
In all fairness, as a single bloke I'll need to steal pics to generate interest in my profile.
Being a little vague does no harm. It help to keep the "I saw you on fab so tracked you down on face book" brigade at bay. It happens....

Always keep it generic - nearest large town or city.
Google postcode areas too and find one that is close enough but big enough that you could be in a big area
