Pulp were far better and had far more imagination than blur and oasis combined.

The Auteurs were the best band of that era though

Blur were much better musicians but that whole 'mockney' aesthetic was annoying. Oasis? Ugh. Give me Happy Mondays, Stone Roses or Inspiral Carpets any day. Baggy Britpop

'better than' this site is odd sometimes with not letting you use certain symbols.

I always thought Oasis were a bit crap, over inflated opinions of themselves, with Liam and Noel thinking they were the best band in the world and the best band ever, whilst in reality they were a poor imitation of the Beatles with a little Glam Rock and Punk thrown in for good measure.

Blur on the other hand weren't really trying to be anything but themselves, they were far better musicians and far better songwriters. As for the 'Mockney' comment made earlier, um, they are Essex boys, that is sort of how they talk and if the comment was in relation to Park Life, the cockney voice was the actor Phil Daniels.

Seen them both live, neither were amazing. The Verve were a lot better as a live act but in general 90s britpop was just rehashed old 60s music.

Would rather have me some proper oldskool or jungle on a big sound system any day.
