It works but depends on whether the people near by have thier location setting on. Check that your location setting is on and that your fab location is also actually on. It can be quiet accurate up to 1/4 mile and less sometimes |

the ppl near you are based on ur perm location that you entered.or u can have the people near me function on and it will show ppl who also have their location setting on live too. its generally accurate to a degree but unless location is on it’s not live and goes by the postcode you Use as ur permanent location. |

Who's near works from your phone's GPS location. If you try to use it without having your own Who's near turned on, you get the following message "You need to turn on your own mobile location before we can see who is near you." |

It’ll be the phone settings, allow it to view location when it asks and when you’ve hidden your profile the site doesn’t let you see who’s near and explains why.
Definitely stalkerish to be able to view people and they can’t view you!  |

If you have correct settings configured, it may work or just show users who are local to your profile details. A lot of mobile users have problems - mine has not worked in a couple of years.
A different web browser may also work, when another doesn't. It's always worth posting your full technical spec - operating system, browser etc |

There’s nothing wrong with wanting to hide your profile but to want to view who’s round you and they can’t see you isn’t exactly fair.

If you’re both using it, you can get some confusing results. Usually shows the location from the first one logged in, even when it asks to use your location.
It can also make you appear to move suddenly, in our case between Notts & Derby, depending upon who’s phone is syncs. |

I have noticed with a joint account, it shows the location only to the main account holder. E.g. if I am in Manchester and my wife in Liverpool, if I check who's near it will show me people in Liverpool as my wife holds the account. |
