Picture Collecting - best way to avoid?

Although we've been on here a while we've only recently put up pics and started contacting people, and am sure that already we've sent pics to fakes, picture collectors is the term we've seen used here.
Any tips on avoiding them? Also, we've got face pics in our private gallery, but sometimes send them with first message if requested. Is that a foolish thing to do? |

not something you can totally avoid, you never know anyones intentions when first contacting, its good form if you want meets to send face pic on first contact i think.
i'd be more worried about pictures that show more than your face |

Avoid people who've been on site for ages, yet have no meets but a massive friends list, especially if they have no pics themselves.
Or on the other hand you could make sure that all your pics are crap so no one in their right mind would want to "collect" them.
It looks like you're taking the first option... |

when using face pics make sure they are not sexual ones, any with sexual positions ect should have your face blanked out.
A generic face pic if sent to your employer etc can be explained as having been copied from a regular site such as facebook
Only do what you feel comfterable with, if anyone asks for a pic but your not sure dont send one. And be aware that pictures can be copied without legal recourse from anywhere on the internet.

All good advice, we don't have any private gallery pics to reduce number of pointless friend requests and number of people just messaging hoping for access. For some it's a game, like unlocking the next level on an Xbox title. Have some private pics you can attach to messages instead and only send them when you are sure. Don't let people know you have more. If asked say no, you can always surprise them with one or two later. |

North of The Wall - youll need your vest |
My face pics are in private and they are 'normal' pics, fully dressed and nothing that you wouldnt see on facebook, so if someone was stupid enough to want to take them from here and post them somewhere else (which is the thing I would be worried about), then they could have easily come from a social network site.
My more explicit pics do not show my face or anything else identifiable so, whilst Id prefer them not to be shown elsewhere, its not the ned of the world if they are... |

Don't post any, is the only way your pictures can't be downloaded.
What you can do to minimise any potential embarrassment to make sure your naughty ones don't have your face or distinctive marks showing (Scars, tattoos) |

Regarding private pics,
Don't anyone to your friends list unless
You have met them
You have spoken to them on the phone
You know someone who knows them well and can verify them for you.
We have had messages from a large number of single females recently, which is all well and good, but we are convinced most of them are men who just want to see our private pics. |

I agree with you, and potentially release photos progressively, in several layers, where you're more comfortable with others, and where it's more definitely seeming to be a committed meeting that's happening.
I don't like game players in life full stop, whether they're psychological games, or tricks/deceptions that people use to manipulate others. I respect my privacy, and my image is part of that.
Something to consider are photos that give overall impressions, rather than full detail, so that it wouldn't necessarily be yourself if ever revealed, as there's some anonymity. Others mention cropping of certain aspects of pics, blurring can be used too, and overall your ability to filter the time wasters/collectors will improve with experience. I think I used to have about 90% of the wasters largely after pics, and they are now in the minority, though still crop up. If in doubt, don't and only ever do what you're fully comfortable with. |

I don't know if it's already been mentioned on here but be very wary of sending pics via msn! When we first joined we were a little naive and learned the hard way. If you send photos via msn then they can download them onto their pc/laptops and re-use them setting up fake accounts.
Nothing is safe I'm afraid but at least on here your photo displays your fabswingers username and the logo so they cannot use it to open other profiles on different websites. Good luck |

you only have to right click a picture and click save to download, if anything its easier than msn |

Easiset way to avoid them ?
Don't put any photos on the internet that you wouldn't be happy for your Great Aunt Maud to see.
No problem then if they get nicked.
Other than that, everything on the net is nickable - worth bearing in mind before to comit anything to the net |

There are far esier sites to steal from, and sites set up just for fans of pictures im on a few of them
i think picture collectors are a bit of a red herring on here, as if people want amateur pics to wank to they can get them anywhere on the net.
One final point, whats the problem if someone wants o have a wank over your pics, i see it as a compliment |

The way we avoid it is by not having private pictures... that way they don't need to contact us to collect them... if they ask for more pictures than are on our profile we just say no sorry... if you want to see more of us we meet in person... thats how you tell the timewasters/pic collectors from the people who actually want to meet. |

Would take 30 secs to copy one of your pics, crop out the logo and post elsewhere! Not planning on doing it personally - but it's that easy.
As others have said - don't put up anything that can identify you in compromising positions - it's easy to use simple software to blur faces and even tattoos and distinctive features can be edited out.
The best suggestion i've seen was not to have any private shots and just offer to meet in person - anyone that would rather have a photo than a face to face chat is far more likely to be less serious about actually getting together! |

Great words of wisdom! Just cleared my private pics! |

"I had some guy after I no longer wanted to meet, printed all my pic's in a4 and had them to my boss "
That is extremely shallow of the man... shows how foolish and desperate a low life can get to cause some harm to others... |

"Never really understand collecting pictures.
Is it so they can share them somewhere or
just for them to fire their trouser custard over?
"
I find picture collecors sad... with all the free porn and nude pictures freely available on internet why they do this beats me...completely goes against the ethos of swinging.... |

Would people actually meet someone without having seen a picture of them? |

I guess for me personally it depends on he personality... did I connect intelectually... the least I feel is needed is the picture of the body fully clothed is fine... not for anything else, but I find woman especially do like to be with guys that do not meet their expectations... similar to guys i guess... the facial picture I usually leave it to he other party as I can understand the need for discretion from their part... but this is how I see things and speak only for myself. |

Guess it depends on personal choice - I prefer to say a quick hi on cam as that can't be faked - but i've been shouted down before by the 'don't have/don't want to cam' community. If you're happy to meet locals I can't see the problem in a quick coffee - you don't click - be honest and move on! |
