Hi all.

So, my question is.

Methods of verification.

I don't have a webcam, so that's out.

I can't get a social (probably because I'm not verified)

I know I could go to a club or social, but that is a little daunting for a first timer.

Would happily go with someone (but I'm not verified.

Any other means of verification, or am I completely screwed

There are big socials organised all over the country. Get yourself to one, talk to people there. Someone will verify you.

Thanks DJohn. Unfortunately as I said, I'm a little daunted by the idea, not to mention, when it comes to socials, being in the right place at the right time is key to that.

I could just go and buy a cheap webcam, I'm just curious about other options, if there are any

Plenty of people go to clubs for the social side and see play as a bonus if it happens. Don’t be daunted by them they’re quite fun and the atmosphere is great.

Or do what has been suggested and get yourself on a large social event.

You almost certainly have a smart phone though.

If you get chatting to a more established member you could ask to video chat with them (Kik or FaceTime etc) and get verified that way

Download Puffin browser, log in to Fab, but make sure you use the desktop version, then you can go on chat and use you phone as a web cam.

Veries mean sweet FA anyway! People dish out fake veries all the time, I met someone that was 20 yrs older than his profile stated or any pics he’d sent me!!! He had been verified a few months before we met, by another male I suspect the other male was the genuine him with the recent pics of himself

I can only presume there is a legitimate reason for it. A higher percentage of fake profiles perhaps?

I’m not sure when it was introduced. I’ve never seen it referenced in the forums before and I’ve definitely seen single male accounts with only verifications by cam.

I don’t think anyone should be allowed to be cam verified! The amount of ‘couples’ that are only cam verified and I use chat rooms regular and have never seen the female half on cam!

I don’t think anyone should be allowed to be cam verified! The amount of ‘couples’ that are only cam verified and I use chat rooms regular and have never seen the female half on cam!

so that could count for a meet? surely if you didn't see both on cam you wouldn't verify the MF couple

You can cam off your phone. Download Puffin browser and log onto the full site not mobile app then cam will work on your phone or tablet. But to be fair it sounds like you don't want to make the effort and expect it all to fall in your lap.

what's the point of being verified on a cam? . The verification just means he/she owns a cam! . Get over to large social meet; buy a beer and talk to people. Seek out the organiser and get verified by people's impression on your social skills. That's far more valuable.

1) Cam verifications don’t require play, just an appearance on cam and a conversation. If I were you I’d be biting Msgiveswood’s hand off for a veri.

2) if you’re daunted at the idea of turning up to a pub to meet 20 or 30 people, who also don’t know each other, then I would have thought you’d be daunted at the thought of going to a complete strangers house for sex. I know which I find most stressful.

If you’re not good at socialising then fab might not be the best place for you. Swinging is by its nature a social exercise. Hook up sites maybe not so much.

It doesn't count as a meet veri as its a cam veri. I will not cam veri a couple when only one of them is on cam. They both have to be. I will also only verify faces.

I’ve also never seen it before - either on the FAQ or in the forums. I presume it must be relatively new!

It's not there. Whoever told you that needs to actually read the faq section lol.

It actually is! I was surprised myself and didn’t believe it so I went to check. It says couples and single women can be verified by cam but single males must be verified by meet.

No its not new. I think it possibly hasn't been updated. Surely of si gle guys can't be cam veri then they wouldn't go through.

Phone with a cam ? If so you can get cam verified using WhatsApp, Skype, FaceTime.......

I don’t think anyone should be allowed to be cam verified! The amount of ‘couples’ that are only cam verified and I use chat rooms regular and have never seen the female half on cam!

so that could count for a meet? surely if you didn't see both on cam you wouldn't verify the MF couple

I’ve seen men on cam in chat under a mf profile and asking to be cam verified, people do verify them! There’s plenty that the f is never seen on cam but they’re cam verified! It’s a big problem on this site ......... false verifying

And that's exactly why I have strict rules about how and who I verify. I want no part in dodgy or fake veris. Happy to help with them on my terms.

I don’t verify anyone unless I’ve met the whole profile, cam veries should be scrapped! IMO

Single men can be cam verified. This has been brought up numerous times on the forums in the past. The FAQ have not been updated.

Sorry if it has been posted already but too many to read through. You can easily cam on most smartphones if you have one through apps such as whatsapp, facetime, kik and snapchat. Pretty easy to set up and do

Sometimes we have to encourage things to happen, of we're not patient enough to wait for there to come in their own time. It possibly means stepping outside our comfort zone - so you have to decide if you are more comfortable going to a social ot club etc alone, than uncomfortable waiting to eventually meeting someone. We all hate different tolerance levels etc - and only you know how motivated you are.

Are there cams via shops that you could return it?

Check clubs for any nights that are not fixed on you being a member - may be s cheaper way to meet others and lower cost, so you'd probably not feel pressured to stay a long time, to get moneys worth.

You can meet socially with people of any gender - it doesn't have to be for sex

If you are too nervous for a social in the pub, can’t honestly see you making it as far as any sort of swinging meet. Maybe look into ways to build your confidence first.

Yep guys who make the effort on here reep the rewards far far to many guys on here now with no veris . People who can’t socialise are defo in the wrong game swinging is not for them "

You can get web cams for as little as £10

Socials are just socials. They are not sex parties. Socials are normally open to everybody. You don't have to be verified to go to a social.

Generally I avoid guys with only one or two veries particularly if they are not displayed. I get asked to leave fake verifications by guys all the time, I block those who ask. Verifications are important if meeting as a single person because they can give you an indication as to whether or not the person is likely to be safe.... I would reccomend you attend an organised social or visit a club in order to receive a few verifications.

Wow, interesting thread.

It seems like a few folk on here think I asked the question because I couldn't get a meet.

Of course I could have gotten a webcam.

Of course I could have attended a social or club. (Admittedly not something I would relish on my own) certainly doesn't mean I'm uncomfortable in social situations.

The level of assumption from some people is absolutely mind boggling.

There's an old saying, "assumption can be the mother of all fk ups"

This leads on to the point that, you never really know someone until you really know someone.

The only time verification works, is when you have a good few to display.

Many people had nothing but good things to say about Ted Bundy. Charming, boy next door, etc etc.

Personally I think the system is flawed. It concerns me that someone could go into chat rooms or Pop to a social, get verified and that is broadly accepted as "oh they are verified so they must be ok" Utter bollocks.

It would be far better, if fab had a check in system, where you could leave details of where your meet is taking place and who with. If you don't check out after the meet, the police are informed.

Obviously it wouldn't be so straight forward as that, but the principal is far sounder than verifications.

Like most of you put it "crucifixions a doddle" sorry " verifications a doddle"

Now you’ve lost me lol. What has any of that got to do with your OP?

Most of us read your OP as needing a bit of advice on getting verified. And people have tried to help you. If we’re making assumptions then it’s due to your lack of clarity.

If we pay any attention to someone’s veri, it’s because they’ve been to a club we like, or met people we like, or they’re local etc
