Apart from making sure you've spelt it correctly before putting it in your sat nav, try posting on the France forum - we got lots of great tips before we went last year. Lots of discussions about the best routes

We are going in June too. But flying to Beziers for £111 for two from Luton. It’s a long drive down so might be worth looking at flights. Unless you really wanted the road trip to be part of the fun.

We used to have a house near Montpellier and would go the A roads down. Really nice drive if you can take your time. Worth checking out Airbnb for stops on the way.

It's pronounced to rhyme with 'bagged'

We did Millau last time we drove that way (we weren’t going to cap d’age)

Amazing scenery and the bridge is worth a see (if you are into that sort of thing). It was a long way around though so wasn’t really half way but a good place to stop non the less

Millau bridge is spectacular.

OP. Bourges is about half way and a beautiful city, good food too. A bit further down is Clermont Ferrand and again a great place, we've done both plenty of times on the way down. The A75 is free so a bit of relief to the pocket as those tolls can mount up, the quickest route also. Enjoy!

near the sounds of the wimborne quarter jack!

From what I`ve heard, the speed limit IS the speed limit and you are highly likely to be done for speeding!

Never a truer word spoken.
