Speaking as a manager of an independent hotel I thought it would be nice to give some feedback from ‘our point of view’ lol.
When checking into a room, don’t mention you will only be in it for a few hours if you arrive by yourself, we all know what that means! Pay your money and go about your business!
If you are booking an independent hotel and you can have four adults in a room, say it’s four adults, we know (probably) what you are using it for but fire regulations and all that, if on the very slim chance the alarm was to go off, it’s a big headache for us!
Don’t ask for a quiet room for heaven sake because if like me, I have booked a quiet room next too some guests who were quite prim and proper only for them to come and mention about the Olympics in the next room, all rooms are expected to have couples in them enjoying each other’s company!
Do try and keep the noise down, while us perves like to heat all the noises coming from the room, Doris and Derek next door does not, be considerate, I mean make noise but don’t sound like a banshee when you arrive!
And lastly, reception know exactly what’s going on and we will talk about it out of ear shot and have a smile on our face when we see the room key left a few hours later!
Enjoy! |
