Hip Replacement

It may seem a little dramatic but I'm worried a hip replacement is going to massively negatively impact our swinging life. So many restrictions on sex and positions?! What are your experiences please?

East Yorkshire

Haven’t actually had it done as they started with my knees as that’s the most brutal but have had a long conversation with my surgeon as it’s likely to be a joint I’ll need replacing in the future and he said it’s a very straight forward op now and as long as healed properly and the healing regime adhered to then there is very few limitations afterwards!

Ditto.

My partner had one and things improved as she was pain free. Don't worry about it all will be fine.

Hey OP, I had a new hip 15 weeks ago, you can see the scar in my pics if you look carefully.

Definitely drop me a message if you want to chat about it.

I've got to have the other one done in a couple of years.

Xx

Surely it is more limiting to be in pain?

Are you not already very restricted? I’ve got arthritis in my hips and I am.

Thanks for the replies. Yes very limited at the moment so no doubt it's the right thing to do. Just concerned to hear you should have your hip not going beyond 90 degrees and going on top, crossing your legs over or having your knees pulled back towards your body all increase chance of dislocation.

One of our best swinger friends has had one, it doesn't inhibit her in any way!

That's a very neat little scar..and it has no affect on the shape of your leg

I agree with this.

I have hip dysplasia and am a member of a few support groups members who have had a hip replacement report that they were walking with crutches in some cases even on the same day as surgery.

Even if it was a problem I am sure you could get creative with positions, I know I definitely do if I have over done it and am sore. (Hips not pussy! Lol)
