I love the picture of Japanese rope bondage.
Have a lady friend, some rope and scissors.
Read stuff and watched a few videos, but would love to chat/message with people to get some more guidance and thoughts.
Here or pm
Thanks |

Twisted Monk is better than TKB, TKB is western bondage rather than Japanese but TKB do show decorative rope. I prefee Lee Harrington Shibari You Can Use, and More Shibari You Can Use or Midori's book.
For your lady friend's safety I would suggest looking up anatomy for rope both online and on Youtube before starting.
I would also suggest ditching the scissors and getting either medical shears or hook cutters. This is because they won't cut your partner if you need to cut the rope, scissors may.
Depending on whether you just want to do pretty patterns, (which is not really Japanese rope) or are looking to connect through rope (which is Japanese rope), will affect your research.
The only thing I would mention a
about rope is that Japanese style purists tend to use 6mm hemp or jute as they hold knots better than cotton or nylon. But if your interest is decorative rope, the choice of rope is not so important.
Attending a local Peer Rope won't hurt either.
Good Luck. |

On that well known fetish site you'll find local rope meets that are perfect for learning how to tie or just observing others. There are loads of tutorials on that well known video upload site too- I've found practicing self tying has not only helped me appreciate the intricacies involved in being a rope too but also can be quite meditative (And help learn skills to use on the lucky lady you're planning to tress up) x |

Thank you for your thoughts.
The books I was aware of, it’s good to have a specific recommendation.
The peer rope meetings I was not aware of. This sounds an ideal scenario. I will investigate further.
Thanks again |

"Thank you for your reply.
I will be looking into local rope groups.
And must say, love the pictures on your profile
xxx"
Thank you- all self ties which can be a bit awkward but also a lot of fun (though not *quite* as fun as being tied by a sexy rope top ) |
