Our Profile Is Very Long...
Jump to: Newest in thread
But we feel very entertaining.
We have a few whingers complaining it's too long, but when we check them out they have a couple of badly spelt lines of text or "will fill in later"
We pride ourselves on having a sense of humour and being able to convey that in words. Clyde is a very talented wordsmith who was thrown off a creative writing course for being too creative. Something he's immensely proud of.
Nobody is forcing anyone to read our profile. And we are not asking for advice on how to change it. We'rejust pointing out that certain people shouldn't criticize something that they're not actually capable of themselves.
Aaaaaand breath.

Agree
Ours is very long and we get the odd complaint but not many as the lazy will just read the first paragraph and run a mile......
Always thought those that don’t make the effort with the profile are also those that don’t make the effort on a meet |

I have to say I didn’t complete the read. I got bored. But I’m not interested in meeting couples so it’s really none of my business. I have a sort of monotone lecture voice in my head reading it which immediately switches me off. Now I’m sure that’s not how you are. It is the effect of the long text.
There’s beauty and creativity in succinctness sometimes.
But it’s your profile and no one should tell you how to manage it. If it’s working as it should for you.

It's not too bad. As you've used sentences and paragraphs, it's easy to skim read it, especially with the sub-headings.
Only suggestion I have is the fact you've started with 'please note' at the very beginning. I'd remove that bit.
It's your profile. Do what you like. If the spelling, punctuation and grammar are there, I can't really fault it.
It *is* a bit long. I suppose it depends whether or not one went to school as to whether it's a problem or not.
Perhaps you can do an abridged version for the intellectually challenged? |

It is one of the longest ones I've seen (That's what she said ) but as for the complainers if they don't like it then they don't have to read it....it's your profile to do as you wish and if you are talented enough to be kicked off a writing coarse then clearly you are talented and want to show that off.

Personally for me I think it's a great read and very entertaining. I love your sense of humour and your honesty. I take it you like BBQ pulled pork pot noodle and pork scratchings. He he he .
You can make it as Long as you want . Those that are interested will read your profile.. We happen to be pretty local to each other. |

"I feel mine offers the perfect contrast
"
We're both happy with our profiles
We've both had meets, so they both work
There is no such thing as a 'perfect' profile
Making the site work for you is so much more than the wordy bit |

Your profile is public, open to all to comment / critique on regardless of whether you feel they are worthy to make such observations.....
It’s a great filter, both ways..... |

This
Your profile is your filter - do you want to meet people who dislike it or can’t be bothered to read it? |

I didn’t find as funny as you seem to think it is.
It’s pretty good but, in my opinion, too long.
I get that Clyde rather fancies himself as a wordsmith but that doesn’t mean his words grip or entertain. |

Yup i got bored and didnt find it runny...a little forced so i skipped to the photos... they were all the same so for me... boring too.
As Mark Twain once said "I didn't have time to write a short letter, so I wrote a long one instead"
Still im probably not your target bloke |
