Do other people get that? Forgive me for pointing fingers here but in our case its mainly single guys. Sending us one liners, if you even can call them that, more words added together. Makes us wonder if thats all we are worth? Not even a proper sentence or two asking us if we want to shagg lol We are getting really frustrated here. How do others deal with it?

On that subject does anyone else think that winks are a very lazy way to make contact, they tell you nothing about the sender or am i being picky.

I do not think winks are a lazy way to make contact. I look at them as a way of saying " I am interested in you" call it an ice breaker, the few people I have met on here started from winks, maybe that is why I am biased.

I always thought winks were a way of saying hi I like you but dont have the courage to write you a message.

I would rather have a one liner message than a wink, cos like was already said it doesnt tell you anything about the person or people who send them.

a horse walks into a bar and the barman says "why the long face?"

Have I missed the point?

Always wondered why people hate winks so much, especially when the "looked at me" is so popular, would rather have 50 winks from unsuitable people than 50 messages that have to be replied to with a thanks but no thanks.

But to the OP, one liners are annoying, but as the majority of messages fail to get a reply anyway we can see why some fall into that trap.

Delete + block

If you reply they will try convince you to meet them. If you don't reply they will get frustrated and send more. Delete and block is the best way for both them and yourself unfortunately.

What if you make all the effort in sending a good email only for it to be ignored or deleted?

Seriously though, if you have taken time to write a GOOD email and you fit what the recipient is looking for, they are more likely to reply to you even if it is a 'no thanks'

Same here, its an easy, non committed way of making contact.

If you fancy the senders, message them,if not don't.

Its an opener for dialogue without the risk of a negative reply.

"What if you make all the effort in sending a good email only for it to be ignored or deleted?"

C'est la vie. Either you don't fit the bill, or just think of it as they've missed out.

We all get knocked back, and the best way to look at it is that they've missed out on someone genuine that will turn up, and not treat them like a piece of meat etc; so their loss.

But a lot of people don't like winks.

Send a wink to someone who doesn't like them, and you'll be ignored. Send an email to people that don't mind winks, and you have as much chance of being noticed.

I'd sooner make the effort with a decent e-mail, and get knocked back occassionally, rather than send a lazy wink and get ignored nearly all the time

I think winks are a harmless bit of fun,for me they just suggest that the person who sent them has had a look at your profile and likes it

I read nothing more into them, occasionally I may even send one back

Oh as for oneliners, sometimes you can say more in one line than blabbering on for half a page

If the sender has a great profile that is very detailed then I don't really mind

I think its the content of that one line that is more important

How did we get from One Liners to winks?

We prefer a wink to One Liners. It shows us that person or couple is interested in us and if we are too we get back and take it from there.

One liners are impersonal and rude, especially without even a Hello or Hiya. Just want a shagg or are you free and more stupid ones like that.

A world of my own

"On that subject does anyone else think that winks are a very lazy way to make contact, they tell you nothing about the sender or am i being picky."

I agree, if you are interested send a message, and a decent few words too, I don't respond to winks. Also I can't understand why anyone would expect a response when all they put is 'Hi, how are you'? Or even worse just 'Hi', I've had that one soooo many times

One liners are a little annoying - but I had a wink off someone last week and I don't really mind them but upon reading their profile it said that if they got winks they'd just delete as shows you're lazy!!!! Made me laugh!

I can get a more meaningful discussion from my stroppy teen than you get in some of the one liners on here lol.

Does this mean my teen has joined FAB?
