I have seen alot of photos on here with guys wearing metal cockrings what do these do?

Have used metal ones but prefer silicon ones, have a couple.

I've been one wearing all day for years.

I used rubber/silicone types for a couple of years but not on a permanent basis & they tend to 'cut in'.
