Done it on n off for a while. Benefits are it makes your pee hole bigger the more you do it, it's quite a thrill, you can buy plugs that have holes in so you can wear then all day and pee through. Negatives, you might get a water infection, sosteralise thoroughly, use proper sounding lube and not thick lube. And just take your time.  |

I like it, I saw some sounding things on AliExpress while looking for sex toy's for myself and the Mrs. didn't know what they were, so did quick web search. So decided to get a few sizes to try, got 3 rubber ones and a couple of metal ones. The Mrs used them on me. I really enjoyed it, so got few longer and larger ones to reach further, longest one made me piss lol, they felt great too.
If you do try them be careful make sure they are sterile maybe get sterile lub to, as I got a urine infection and was passing blood for a few days.
I've thrown the longer ones away now so I'm not tempted to use them again lol. As I was ok with the shorter ones for a few weeks before the big ones arrived, or it could have been because I didn't use sterile type lub, or didn't clean them properly, I'm not sure. I do think it was the longest catheter type rubber tube one that did it, as its harder to clean inside the tube bit.
I'm yet to use the others again yet, although I like the feeling.

You do need to be careful when doing sounding. I
You should never force a rod down an erect penis. This is v dangerous and can cause damage. Its only meant to be done with a flaccid or semi erect penis. Every person is different. Some can take large diameter, some can't. If there is any resistance at all when sounding you need to stop. I've been doing it over 35 years. There areany types of variety of rod. I'm more at the extreme end. I use guyon sounds. These babies are definately not recommended for any novice. There are 18 rods in a kit... 2 gauge up to the massive 36 gauge. I am now up to that one. I’ve played on and off over many years. I love the feeling you get at the time. It all started when I would get pain in the urethra if I came really hard. I asked the doctor for help and was told that my urethra was a bit smaller and was being stretched as I came. So clearly the answer was to sound to stretch it. This worked great and I was hooked.
The set I’ve got has a slight bend at the end of each rod this can be used to milk the prostate. I use a silicone based lube as the body doesn’t absorb it and the lube stays working longer. I take time to work the lube all the way down so not to damage my urethra and get pain peeing for the next day or two. I have also had catheters in the past and had pain from the after. I was surprised as the tube is much smaller than the sound I was playing with at the time. I then worked out it was the lack of lube as the catheter is inserted. The other way you can lube up that is great and in many ways better is to be turned on to the point you are leaking pre cum. This is ok as long as you continue to leak. wanking with the sound in can cause damage. This needs to be done carefully because if you do irreparable damage that's it. A sounding rod must go in smoothly even with lube. Forcing it down is not safe at all and definately not recommended. We are all different and not everyone can take the larger rods. The small rods drop right down me. The ones I use are not for any novice. Guyon sounds are definately for the real die hards. I take the huge 36 gauge no problem at all. You have to be extremely careful with these ones |

36 gauge is 13mm so very big as sounds go. Google is your friend.

I was trying to be nice and suggesting a simple mistake on your part and you come at me with the google line. I have a degree in engineering and many industrial qualifications. 36g is 0.13 mm that’s not 13.0 mm that’s about the thickness of a light card. 13 mm is in fact 1/2 gauge. Sorry but there is a huge difference. |

But like others have said start off with a smaller diameter and work your way up,also make sure everything is clean.

I think it’s doubly important for women as the urethra is shorter and more internal so more susceptible to an infection.
