So I've been messaging someone for a little while and have got to the point where we've exchanged kik details.

They seem nice enough and are verified by 1 other person but not photo verified.

Upon looking up their kik their name is very different to profile name on here and their picture is not overtly sinister but has a bit of text on it that if i saw in a movie would be.

But on this site and with the right sense of humour could be a joke.

Coupled with this is that we started talking when they messaged me just 10 mins after I tried messaging a completely unverified account of different "credentials?" (for the sake of keeping everything anonymous) making me feel like it was a "bait" account.

At first I put this down to coincidence but after seeing their kik I'm suspicious again.

Am I right to be sceptical in this case or am I being OTT?

Thanks for reading

It's hard to say.

People do commonly use different names on here.

I can't comment on the photo caption without knowing what it says.

The bait account thing sounds more like a coincidence. I can't think any possible purpose a bait account would be.

As far as everything else goes, if they were fake, what do you think their motive would be? What are they trying to get out of you?

The minute you start to question whether someone is genuine is the moment you walk away, not the moment you start to second guess things. Trust your instincts

Different Kik name, happens all the time for good reason.

The rest... I'd walk away.

Without a second thought, just walk away and trust your gut instinct.

Instinct usually serves better than logic. If it doesn't feel right walk away.

If in doubt block and move on. Then your profile looks a little suspicious too OP saying that.

My kik name is from an old profile. My current username is taken on kik so I can't switch it.

That in itself isn't suspicious. Any change of tack or conversations that would otherwise need reporting if it was on fab would be a cause for concern.

I have a different Kik name because when it was the same, guys would get around my blocks and occasionally blow my phone up. It's invitation only for a reason, so I decided to make myself a bit harder to find.

Just walk away....

What you gonna lose or miss out on at best even if this said person does exist?

Completely understandable. Not a problem I have to contend with for some reason

Be aware! We have heard stories of married people being conned via kik once they have swapped pics with people. We would definitely recommend blocking and moving on!

hiding from cock pics.

Could be fake regardless of anything else, I didn't completely understand all the complexities of what's gone on there exactly.

If your spider senses are tingling though ask them to come on cam so you can say hello to both of them and make sure you will have a visual richar attraction.

Many people's Kik is completely different to their fab so that to me is not a red flag

Ask for a live picture

Litterally the only useful feature kik has

We have given people on here we had doubts about a chance previously. Every single time they turned out to be fake. Now if we have any doubts we leave it, we’re not desperate so why waste our time.
