What do people find the best positions to get you all in?

My arm wasn’t long enough in our recent meet. Got a lot of good photo’s, but all still a bit too close. Do people use a selfie stick? Or tripod and a timer?

At present just using my phone, would using a compact camera or dslr make that much difference.

There needs to be a guide section on here.
