Hey, it’s just came across my mind that it’s fairly easy to fake a verification.
What if someone makes 2 accounts and uses the secondary account to self-verify their main account as having arranged a meeting. In effect, that would make the account look more legitimate and it would essentially be “verified.”
Just wondering if Fab already has a way to combat this, because it is a little bit concerning lol |

I think there’s plenty on here that set up a single male profile, go into cam or meet and get verified genuinely. Then they use that verified profile to verify another profile they’ve set up that’s not so genuine, a single female or couple profile ......... |

You can only verify someone if you're already verified yourself, although I have been asked by people I've never met to swap verifications so they could get around it that way. Two profiles can't verify each other from the same IP address either. Apart from that I think admin rely on people reporting fake profiles. |

Looking at some of the verifications that appear on many of the profiles and then considering how many people don't even read let alone reply to messages or even consider meeting, I've often considered it pretty suspicious. It's quite clear that many are make veris just like it's obvious that so many profiles are fake - ever noticed how they have the same one line introduction?! |

Yes but there are many suspect ones on site ... I have read quite a few on same profile and the wording is very much identical using same descriptive wording.
Some it's quite obvious they have never met.
A lot of been on 6 months and one verification from six months also.
Been on a week and one verification straight away.. makes you wonder |

There’s ways around getting verified! My advice would be to cam or chat on phone before booking or arranging any kind of meet, that way there’s no disappointment or money wasted!
I’ve been on and off the site a few yrs and unfortunately when I first ever joined arranged to meet a couple when I got there it was just a man .......... I soon wised up so I wouldn’t get naively duped again x |

Very solid advice. Best to assure yourself completely beforehand! |

"I think if you have a gold or silver membership you can verify others without being verified "
No you can't. You have to be verified before verifying someone else. |

So this is whats in the FAQ section about verifications.
How do I get verified by other members?
You need to find someone who is already verified and ask them to verify you. If you are a couple or a woman then you can get verified by webcam. An easy way to do this is to go into the chatroom while you are both there, switch your webcam on and ask someone to verify you. If you are a single guy then you need to meet someone.
I've met someone but neither of us are verified so how can we verify each other?
One of you needs to be verified in order to verify the other person. Your best bet is for the female to get verified by another member e.g. on cam or by phonecall.
Verifications we try to leave for another user aren't being saved
If you're trying to verify another account that you have created yourself or you're trying to verify someone who is using the same PC as yourself, or you're on the same internet connection, then the verification won't be recorded. We do this to stop people creating fake accounts and verifying them themselves.
I'd like to remove a verification I've given to another member
(New, Sept 2010) If you block a user, verifications you have left will no longer show on their profile and similarly verifications they have left you will not show on yours. If you remove the block then the verifications will show again. Removing a verification will not remove a user's "verified tick", it only stops the verification text showing on their profile. |

I have seen some profiles that all appeared to be verifying each other.
For anyone that's remotely computer literate it's perfectly possible to create several profiles, from different ip addresses. You then get a male profile verified by a meet and then use it to verify your fake couple profile which can then verify other further profiles and so on.
I've had quite a few cases now with verified profiles where the 'husband' showed an unhealthy interest and begged for more pictures of my wife but wasn't able to provide a simple selfie of him and his wife both together ('we don't have any' - really?) and the wives either 'don't like to chat" or are "away this week". Sometimes the profile only replies to messages at specific times..
This sort of thing spoils the site for us.
