"How can you spot who is fake? Like a man claiming to be a woman. Also concerned about being underage "
Hmmm as a man dressing like a woman, I guess that kind of makes me a fake .
On the plus side Im a long way off being underage.....on second thoughts I might be so far off thats its not much of a plus at all ! |

To my knowledge photo verified has never been obligatory....
Spotting fakes as already said is about the spidey sense !! You just start to see the signs. I work on the basis of, I'll be somewhere on a specific date, if they are real they will turn up. If they aren't, they won't  |

A lot of people ask for things and never give enough information back.
.. if they answer at all.
As for underage i'd imagine a lot of people wouldn't tell you unless they had to. |

If they don’t send me face pics after chatting, dodge an invitation to cam, have no veris after being on the site a long time and ask me for any videos I have after about ten mins of chatting.

I’m not photo verified. I have just blocked all people who aren’t verified in person. I hear there are lots of fake women. I’ve just been accused of being one so even verified in person doesn’t seem to help. |

You would think the verified profiles meeting in person would be safer but that isn’t the case at all.
I watched while an unverified female profile was verified 3 times on her request via updates in less than 40 mins by males that obviously had not met the lady in question.
Reported but the profile is still there. |

Sometimes the things they say too. Had a ‘single woman’ message recently asking what’s the sluttiest thing I’ve ever done. Women just don’t talk to each other like that, out of the blue, as an opening message. |

I can only think it’s the people who verify the fake is the person creating the fake profiles to get verifications.
One guy has blatantly used images from a guy I train with in gym lol when confronted he blocked me obviously and now I can’t report him to get the images taken down. My mate is furious but nowt I can do |

You can still report even if blocked - when you get to the page that tells you you're blocked go the top right hand corner and click the drop down menu - there's an option there to report which works even if blocked  |

Don't engage in sexting off the bat. If they try, see that as someone just looking for wank fodder. Most men who pretend to be women, are not really looking to chat about normal things. They jump straight to fantasies etc..... Well that's just my experience anyway. |

There's various tools you can use OP, including Google Reverse Image and TinEye that will help you find pics that are "borrowed"
Beyond that it really is down to fit instinct - if something smells fishy, it usually is fishy kind of thing
Taking your time getting to know people, avoiding blatant sex chat and not jumping at the first chance to meet are all good ways to get to see how genuine people are |

Ditto just plain fantasists.
You develop a sense over time, although it's not foolproof. I've seen a number of female profiles where I've thought "women just don't talk like that". Lo and behold, fake pictures.
I recommend finding a system of sorts, like if/when wank chat is acceptable, do you ask for specific photos or a phone call/ video chat, always social first (and where/ what kind of place you allocate for those), etc. |

Never 100% sure but yes pretty much can spot a fake.
Not verified either photo or by other fab members. Little or no profile write up, no photos or ones that are either so out of focus you can't work out whether it is actually a human-being in the photos and they quickly try to move the talk on to talk about sexual experiences, fantasies etc.
Oh and the number of porn stars who have moved to Newcastle is amazing the Tyne Valley should be renamed Silicon Valley. |

Oh, and profiles with a lot of meet verifications in a very short time (particularly not club or social meets, and particularly single guys). Check the verifiers if you're not sure. I can never prove it, but sometimes it does look like someone has set up half a dozen accounts who've all verified each other (same writing style or spelling mistakes, sort of thing). |

Probably. Whatever is most likely to get them a meet.
Personally, the sentence "my profile is wrong I'm actually X not Y" gets a place on my block list. |

All unsolicited messages from those under 30 will be fake on ALL dating sites. No exceptions.

What is the point? Have you ever known Admin to take down profiles. They just make sure you cannot see each others profiles

the word useless springs to mind"
Strange, I've found them to be helpful enough. Remember, they are volunteers and do it in their spare time. It can take up to 48 hours once reported. If they don't know, they can't act. |

Yes Admin do remove profiles for having fake photos. I reported one for taking one of my photos and it was removed very quickly. That same person popped up again a week later with the same stolen photo and after reporting it, it was removed again. |

One simple filter.
A phone call.
Use a burner phone, or make sure your number isn't linked to Facebook etc, and then remove any objections by offering to give it to them so they can withhold their number and call you.
No more fakes.

I've reported a fake profile. It was removed the next day. Most admin are volunteers. There are a lot of requests to get through. They do the best they can. |

I cancelled a meet with someone after I ran their pics through Tineye and they’re ALL from the internet. He’s now got a status saying I’m a guy called Bruno (Bruno is who I’m now meeting). His status has been on for 7 hours ‘shaming’ me because I found him out. His status and pics are still up. |

OMG I've just found a fake or 2 was a guy that claimed we played at a club showed me his cock picture's so I dug deeper asking questions he then updated his status saying stuff about me then left fab I've now recived another message same picture but half the age and now lives down the road from me what's real and what's fake on here? |

I just keep reporting them before blocking them myself. I use the notes facility as well when I block as I tend to forget why, old age creeping up lol. |

They've been on the site for a while, aren't photo verified or even meet Veri's. And as others have said language is key, most women aren't quite so vulgar in their profiles and opening messages. And if they start off talking about sex it's just a bloke tugging at himself not a woman  |

Had another one today . We have been messaging for a week . We did kik his wife was joining on weekend . Never did . We suggested some meet dates but always he needed to check . Suggested a phone chat. Nope and it was them at approached us . Blocked and reported . But you guesed it still on fab

Had a "woman" arrange to meet me. Blocked me on the morning of the meet. Had another I was talking to for a few days. Asked for my lil but wouldn't voice or video. Fab is a funny place. I don't mean this in a horrible way but some of the people behind fake accounts must be unfulfilled in life. |

Guys, if a 19 year old stunner makes the first contact with you don't get excited, they are fake. It's happening more and more in my area of west London for some reason, all similar style profiles, I think it may be some hooking ring  |

Been here for a while, not veried in any way.
Little to no profile info
18-99 age range
Couples with only male photos
Photos of photos in profiles
Verifications from meeting after being here 24 hours yet nothing for months after.
Couples that can travel or accommodate
Couples who haven’t been veried in over 12 months.
People who demand a lot but offer very little on their own profiles.
People who only chat on Kik/WA
List goes on. That’s why I rarely meet.
Reported many profiles, some get dealt with. Some don’t. That’s life I guess |

Completely agree, just a few days ago I was informed one of my photos was being used as a couples profile pic and had an extremely crude status next to it saying how the new girl loved being used and abused. I contacted admin and the photo was removed but the profile is still there. The frustrating aspect is that they had been verified 17 times! So I can’t even trust verifications 100% now. |

Mrs H met a guy off a different site just for a social then he got in contact months later on Fab and was using my wife's pics as a fake veri account to bolster his profile. I had a right go at him and he still denied it the creep. Reported of course xx Mrs is ok xx |
