Why can't every profile be made to pay the £5 And be photo verified.
Wouldn't that put most of the fakes off.

I don’t think it would.
£5 is nothing to many, and probably nothing to those who want to fool others.
Fakes will always frequent sites, whether it be POF Tinder, here or sites you have to pay for.
Thankfully they usually shoe themselves up quite quickly! |

A fiver is nothing compared to what you could pay on some sites and they are full of fakes and timewasters too.

Perhaps admin could say that the only way to send and receive messages is to become a verified paying member so gold or silver medals? Thoughts |

What if the fake creators were more desperate and willing to pay? You'd deter many genuine people who won't pay, have a higher volume of fakes who do and overall a proportionately much higher ratio of fakes. |

Anybody who wasn't to use fab for the right reasons will pay.

As I've said before. Why not make it that to send messages you have to be photo verified. And when you message someone your verification photo is used as your message avatar. It's only shown in messages and no where else. That would also get rid of all the send a face pic demands also. If you don't want your face shown then you won't message. |

I understand where you're coning from. The solution here would be for fab as a community to be allowed to vet out profiles on behalf of the admin team.
1. This will reduce work for Admin
2. Less fakes on here

Neither is foolproof (a person doing it for kicks may well pay, a person doing it for kicks may well have a cooperative friend who is prepared to help them cheat the system) and to suggest any system would be, would create a false sense of security. |

Either way I think it needs looking at.
As a "paying" member I would expect fab to do something.
Not just sit back and wait for a member to report a fake profiel and then deal with it.
A very negative attitude to a problem all the genuine members have to deal with.
Come on "FAB" be proactive and do something .

The fee is next to nothing. A site of this size would be a nightmare to babysit in the way you propose. There are mechanisms in place. But most importantly, there's individual common sense/ judgement, your own individual checks, and word of mouth.
I'm inclined to think that if you're adult enough to fuck strangers you meet online, you're adult enough to take care of yourself. Including online safety and things like that. |

I just use my filters so unverified newbies can't message ... that helps me avoid them.. I still get the odd time waster but that's just life isn't it ? |

Op if you set your filters so that unverified, new members and members who aren't site supporters can't message you the site will work for you in the way you describe.
Also if you choose to only contact site supporters who are photo verified your problem will be solved. |

In my next post I will explain exactly how fab deal with reports.
All admin and mods are volunteers and the sheer volume of profiles and photos means that it simply is not possible to reverse search each one.
I have explained above the tools you can use to make the site work how you want it to. |

Here is an explanation from Admin from another thread on how they deal with reports.
******Just a quick note. If people report others and we can verify that they have broken site rules, we always take action (either a first and final warning, partially suspended account, fully suspended, mixture of the above).
Every single report sent via the REPORT link is reviewed. Clearly it's not in our interests to have people on here who are bad for the site. Equally we need to verify what has been reported and be fair to those who have been reported.

PS. we never provide feedback on what has happened. It's just not practical given that we get 100s of reports a day.
Here is what the page says after a report has been submitted:
