Travelling to meets!

Just curious on how far people would travel to meets! Just I travelled over an hour for one meet with a couple just to find that they were not even there.. just a shame there are people on here that will waste other people's time on here, and how would you know they are serious? X |

Canary Islands !!"
Ahh again the sun.. it brings the best out of us. One of the places I'm yet to go.. maybe for a hol but to travel that far for a meet I'd definitely have to know they were 100% genuine. X |

As I presume the Op is talking about a first meet maximum would about 20 miles that’s the distance to any of the clubs most local to me.
Like most in here I’ve been mugged off in the past.
As for socials unless it’s an organised one forget it

Well i was going on any meet really but the one I mentioned that was going to be the first time i meet them but had been talking for about 3 weeks, but I've also had no shows in the same town..
Just a shame people do that as it makes people abit wary after that. |

We were going there anyway, you joker Mr!
UK probably 160 miles, but again we were going there anyway.
We usually arrange travel meets around where we will be anyway rather than make them the purpose of travel, otherwise it's wasted time as OP said. Once a meet is successful, then for repeat meets distance is no object, just time.
Have had a social meet bail on us, fortunately just the one, and it was local so no harm done, and there was a valid reason in the end, not just a vanishing act.
Sorry you that that experience OP.

If we can incorporate a weekend away, a motorbike ride out or a club visit we will travel pretty much anywhere. Always up for an adventure. Distance may take a little planning but it's only a number |

"Half an hour tops for me, then it's not a massive issue if they don't turn up.
I do tend to make them come to me for the initial social though "
That's why we like to incorporate something else into it, just in case we get a no show. It happens. We travelled to Derbyshire to meet a couple. They cancelled half an hour before we were due to meet. Didn't need to go all that distance but we incorporated visiting family while we were down there. Since then we do tend to like to meet in a club when we travel to meet strangers |

"If it was someone I'd not met before and wasn't going to that area anyway, I'd say about 45 mins away would be about my limit."
Also meant to say sorry to hear about your experience OP. I've had a couple of late cancellations, but fortunately both just before I'd left to go thankfully. |

In the past I've driven 3 hours for a weekend with someone. These days I have less time and energy and prefer to spend both on the fun bits! So I'd have really like someone to travel over an hour. |

If I don't know them then I won't travel at all. If they happen to be at the same club I will have a chat and if we get along possibly arrange something for another time.
I am cyber suspicious these days. |

most fundamental aspects |
Just under 7000 miles. I had some annual leave accrued and we got along as friends online. I found a good deal on flights so went for it. We had no expectations and my room had two beds just in case we didn’t click in person. We did and it was well worth it!
I’ve also had people visit me. From east coast US and one woman who had never left the US came over from Texas. |

"I keep it pretty local
So how far? Just your home town? about 20/25 miles...I don't drive so use trains which is a faff in itself
You could always make it 40 and stay the night " if was someone I'd met before then I would do that |

In my new fab days I’d have travelled a fair distance but when I realised it took me longer to drive than the sex lasted I gave up travelling.
Now within ten miles at a polish but tend to meet in a coffee place within a few miles of home. |

I regularly travel for meets, and will do 150 mile round trip for a few hours at a club. My furthest has been a 300 mile round trip.
If I had more free time then travelling really wouldn't be an issue at all, I don't understand why so many people won't travel for the right person. |

Blackpool. November 17th. The Flaunt event. Just sayin'
Seriously, we agree. Time is our issue but have travelled several hundred miles before now to attend events and doing 70 for a social today. |

I'll certainly travel for the right person, but implies (to me) that I've already met them in person and clicked. I sort of assumed the OP was meaning a stranger/someone you hadn't met. |

Im guessing it all depends on what kind of meet it is, If its just sex then I'd travel 90 mins, If its friendship with a day or so of good company then i would travel all over of the uk.

I've travelled all the way down from Hull (where I was at uni at) to Reading down south for a weekend to meet with a couple for some fun. As it happened it was also my birthday weekend, so I guess that justifies the longer distance I put in! But generally speaking, I don't mind travelling far as long as there's enough notice given. For last minute meets, only if it's in the same city or wherever I'm staying at the moment. |
