I'm looking for some advice. I'm really intrigued to visit a club for the first time, but not sure if I should go on my own.

Some people have said don't go on my own, and Im not sure if I'd have the bottle tbh.

How welcoming/friendly are clubs? Do any other ladies go on their own that can recommend one in the London area?

TIA xx

Hi I’m a single guy and going to a club for the first time tonight and on my own. I know it’s completely different of course but the staff there have been great. I can only suggest message a few see how the staff sound, and good luck.

I'd rather go with someone on my first visit if I ever get to go

There is absolutely no problem with a single lady going to a club on her own. It is possibly the safest way for a single woman to swing. The staff and customers are protective, you can see what you you're getting before committing to play, and if you dont want to play but just watch, that's fine too. Our advice would be simply to go for it......and for you it's free!

I think you'll be fine. There are plenty of friendly clubs out there and the owners/organisers are always delighted to welcome single women.

If you want a really friendly place to start, we would recommend Radlett Parties. Very laid back and respectful, great food and a variety of people. If you're in London, it's easy to get to.

To be fair clubs these days will go out of their way to make sure single women on their own are looked after. I would suggest you let them know in advance, that you are flying solo. BMFC is a club I have attended for a number of years, and have seen Helen help out many a single woman...I hope I can bump into you there, one of these weekends...

I don't know about London clubs, but some clubs are fantastic, great culture, really safe as a single lady. Others really, really aren't. Ask around if you can. Unfortunately there's a small subset who go to clubs who you need to watch out for, and for that it can be good to have someone who's got your back.

Someone above recommended Radletts. I wouldn't personally, they treated me shockingly on my one and only visit there. But everyone is different with different expectations. And I found the guests quite cliquey.

I personally would recommend Our Place for Fun. Cosy little club, but the hosts and staff are amazing and really looked after me on my first visit alone.

Try going to a fab social and meet people you have a good chance of finding someone who has been to one and may even decide to take you with them to a club.

Me either! Most clubs do charge an entry fee for single ladies. It is usually a small amount, about £10, so cheaper than couples and single men but not free.

And rightly so in my view! I’d be uncomfortable going in for free.

I would say go on your own persoanlly or go with freinds or someone you have got to know very well and trust. I would not go with anyone to a club who you don't know and trust to a high degree.

If you are uncomfortable about the presence of men following your around a club all night (can be a bit intimidating to some) I would recomend a couples and single ladies night to dip your toe in.
