I've had a message this morning alerting me to a video of me on a porn site.
It certainly isn't one I gave permission to use and the number of people that had access to it is limited to 2 exs and me.
I've requested it be removed by the porn company and also rang 101 but they are not really interested. Can I insist they take it more seriously as I thought it was a crime now.
They have said take a note of the user and contact the company to get it removed and if it's not get back to them x |

I would go into the local police station rather than phoning 101. I think this comes under revenge porn? |

I am pretty sure this wasn't my ex though.. but think they can trace who it is.

It could inadvertently be your ex. If they have a copy and share with a new partner who makes a copy and shares then eventually it gets shared wider.
If this is the case not sure revenge porn would apply as I believe there has to be intent to harm behind it. But I could be wrong. |

The person uploading it will have now had to have clicked to say they have permission of the person in the video to upload. Due to the new laws. Looking at the profile the guy has loads of stolen content. What was worrying about mine is it had my name. And my area and mentioned clubs I go to on the blurb for the video . So who ever it was knew enough to put that |

Jesus! Thank goodness you were alerted! A video of you is bad enough, but to add such personal information..that’s horrendous. |

on the bright side it had 95% thumbs up
And Not really. As I'm aware that videos or photos once taken could end up anywhere. But the guys profile has loads of videos and not every one else maybe as ok. Yes I want it looking at but more so the next person doesn't suffer and the level of personal details.
Btw thank you to those that initially messaged me and said ring the police back as they should take this serious |

If you have suffered no financial or reputational harm .....
What can the police do ?
This is a terrible thing to happen to you... I’m not sure how revenge porn laws work in the UK...
But in America the police wouldn’t take this seriously unless the person was underage. |

It's now illegal to post videos/pictures of a sexual nature onto a website without the consent of all the parties involved.
That's called revenge porn and you can get two years in prison for it.

They have tool it quite seriously. The website are prepared to give the police any details wirh regards to ip and location etc. Not sure how much else as obviously they have data protection laws too but sure the police can get it. |

We’d fucking kill someone if they did this to us! 
As for revenge porn, the law may not be on your side believe it or not! It all depends on the intent of the person who posted it.
If they did it to hurt you or embarrass you, then its revenge porn. HOWEVER... If it was put online with a caption like “Look at how gorgeous and sexy she is! Wasn’t I the luckiest person in the world?!” then it currently wouldn’t be classed as revenge porn  |

I would suspect giving all the personal details is what is unlawful in this occasion. |

Also keep an eye on the internet thru google for the title the film was uploaded under as often you will find the same title has been copied and harvested to other porn sites already and your not only one one porn site but many ! Sorry to say this happened to me and it took months to finally eradicate the movie from the internet |

I think you could get it classed as revenge porn.
Hopefully the website it has been uploaded to kept a copy of the IP address of the person who ulpoaded it.
I hope whoever uploaded the video gets caught. |

That is why you have to be careful if on your webcam in the chat rooms. Anybody could be recording you.
If you don't show your face on webcam obviously you have less worry. |

The problem is sometimes I have seen the precise same video maybe 6 times each with a different title. |
