Evening all.
I've checked the forums and can't see any topics on this subject. I was wondering if anyone, specifically ladies, has any experience of seeing their gp's about sexual dysfunction.
Was it taken seriously or were you fobbed off telling you its in your head.
I've been swinging over a year now and it's become very apparent that there isn't something right with me down there.
While I very much enjoy sex and love the intimacy of it, I get little to no pleasure or sensation from recieving it.
Seeing other ladies when I've been at clubs I can safely say I've never seen another lady with this issue, which makes me believe something isn't right.
I think it's one of the reasons I wanted to try swinging, to see if I would finally feel something, but there's been no difference.
Is there any hope or should I be resigned the fact I'll probably never have sensation down there. |

I would have thought your GB is obliged to take it seriously after all it can lead to depression anxiety and other issues for people. I would go to your GB and see if you can get help and if you feel they are fobbing you off or are not taking things seriously tell them that however I would think most would be sympathetic and listen to your issues. |

I've got an appointment in a couple of weeks. I've been putting it off as I'm convinced I'm going to be told it's psychological rather than physical.
I've never had much feeling but up until we started swinging didn't think it was unusual. It's going to clubs and group meets that's opened my eyes to the fact that it's not normal and I seem to be defective in that area.

Yes, my wife is the same. Shes been to several gps and privately we saw a specialist that 'hypnotised' her and tapped into her head deep. It all stemmed from her child hood and the religious way she had be bought up. Were on our 5 'sexual rehabilitation hypnosis' and things are improving. It was down to a mental block between the receptors in the brain... a simular way to when people have a stutter or another disability. |

Don't despair as feelings through nerve endings change as your body changes. It might be that you need more than just physical stimulation but maybe emotional as well. It could be all sorts of things seeing a private PST therapist (psycho sexual therapist) may help to understand the situation more, search online you will find a local one. One that has affiliation and experience is the ideal. Hope you find a solution (and this isn't disrespectful) but remember sometimes the screamers are just putting on a show for others. |

I've tried to think of anything to cause it to be a mental issue, but can't think of anything.
Sex wasn't a dirty word growing up and religion definitely not an issue.
I didn't have sex until I was 18 as I had no interest, and even that was more because I thought I should as I was already older than the average for starting.
Gah. Hopefully my gp will be able to recommend something to try. |

I'm hoping my gp may be able to recommend A I wouldn't know where to start.
I know there's a lot of performance at clubs but in the group play I've been in, in clubs and away from them, its been very genuine reactions from other ladies that I just physically don't seem able to achieve.
But I do still enjoy sex, but for peace of mind I just want to know am I genuinely defective or is my head more messed up up than I previously thought |

I'd ask for an MRI if you;re sure it's not mental.
My orgasms started getting milder this past few years, then i woke up one morning last year unable to walk and lost all sensation in my genital region and legs, turned out i had 2 slipped discs and spinal stentosis.I've seen consultants since and happy to say down there is more functional than ever.
Good luck whatever it is. |

You're not defective . You might be different to some women but defective? No.
I asked the nurse at my surgery who the best gp was to see about women's sexual health and made an appointment with them. It really makes a difference if they have an interest in the area you're consulting them about.
Good luck |

The nurse I'm seeing was recommended so hopefully if she can't help personally then she'll know who can.
And thank you. |

I honestly don't know. I don't think so, so not sure what possible solutions there might be. |

"I’m booking an appointment at some point this week. I haven’t had a sex drive in four years and I’ve tried everything I’ve read online "
I hope they're able to help you. Nothing more frustrating than wanting to but your body having zero reaction.
Mines frustrating as the drive and urge is definitely there, just no way of relieving it.
I used to to be able to get myself off but I'm struggling to do it myself nowadays to the point I've stopped bothering. |

I know I lost complete feeling down there after childbirth. Not just in the lady parts but literally everything from the belly button down to that area.
It's definitely got worse since then, but as I never had much feeling anyway I assumed it's normal.
Thank you x |

Explain that to your gp. I'm not suggesting that this is the problem but Google cauda equina. You could have a trapped nerve somewhere. |

Thanks for that. Yeah I'll definitely mention it as I have been having lower back ache, specifically on the lower right hand side, but as it definitely isnt painful I've been ignoring it. |

I realise I wasn't very clear in my earlier post. Immediately after childbirth I lost feeling, but feeling gradually came back after about 3 months. But things down there seemed less sensitive after and since. |

Did you have an epidural during childbirth? It is known in some cases that nerve endings can be damaged due to epidural use. |

No, normal delivery except for an episiotomy. No epidural.

Hi . My ex had this issue . Poor sex drive then it just kinda slipped away altogether . She tried all sorts of remedies . Think in the end it was trapped nerves coupled with low sex drive . At least you have seen 1st hand at clubs how it should and can be so your at a great start to actually know you have an issue . So many things could be causing so just chill out and find the cure . Be open minded . Ps we both wish you good luck and fingers crossed for you |

Wouldn't be surprised if it is your nerves or a spine issue, there's lots they can do if it is so try not to worry.
Hope they find the cause and that's me off to get ready for tonight. All the best. |
