I get it a lot. Sunday, arranged to meet in a hotel before going to Chams together. At 5pm he said he’d left and was in his way. 8pm he texted to say he couldn’t make it, leaving me with the full hotel cost and no club partner I really wish we could name and shame all these tossers |

It’s crazy how much these things happen to people. I’ve changed my mind or chickened out/ got cold feet in the past but I would always at the very least message the other person if not call them. However embarrassed or awkward I might feel it’s just mean not too. |

Totally agree, would completely understand if a lady gets cold feet, meeting what someone you don’t know well is a risk, and of course a lady (or man) has the absolute right to change their mind at any time, but please just be honest and open about it ?? X |

Exactly this!!
As for me, I just put it down to another life experience, am quite philosophical about it and lucky that he’s just one guy and the majority aren’t like that. So onwards. xx |

"Beggars belief that guys go to so much trouble to actually get a meet in the first place then don't turn up or ghost. I can see why people are choosing to meet at clubs and parties now. "
I suspect women are just as bad when it comes to this.
The guy I was stood up by he played the long game, we’d been talking a few weeks.
I guess people get a kick out of it or something. Oh well.
For me knowing it happens and not unusual helps me be philosophical about it and not internalise it as being a reflection on me as a person/ appearance etc. |

I'd be so tempted to message him asking him to bank transfer half of the hotel costs if not all.
You might not get your money but this fantasist may think twice before scamming another lady
3 hours between leaving and calling it off is ridiculous especially knowing that you were going to be out of pocket.
