Ok confession...this is a rant.
Get message from couple asking if would like to meet. Few messages down the line give their phone number to arrange. Speak to M who gives address at agreed time.
Forward to meet time. Stood outside address calling to confirm ready. Brief conversation then they hang up. I know they've seen me, I try the door, they won't answer.
Help me to understand why people will do this? Lots of effort on their part. I have their number and address and now annoyed because they dragged me out for nothing.

Being stood up is unpleasant and disheartening - so sympathy and a hug sent.
Always speak with all partners and consider a neutral meeting point perhaps.
Otherwise, use your best judgment to determine whether any behavior is appropriate or not and report the latter to admin. There have been instances of people being sent to false addresses …- hence why meeting neutrally can be helpful. |

That's a good way to look at it. It must be hugely disappointing and frustrating though.
