I think it's referred to as dwarfism now. Midget is highly offensive apparently.

When I watch the Roloffs on Little People Big World, they refer to themselves as little people.
There's a good mix on there with little people in relationships with big people and little people in relationships with other little people so what you're after isn't impossible. |

The correct terminology, when it comes to dwarfism, varies form country to country, between different cultures and even from person to person. The one thing that is agreed upon is that the word “midget” is considered HIGHLY OFFENSIVE to people with dwarfism. In the United States of America, such terms as Little People, LP, person of short stature or person with dwarfism are all acceptable. The term “dwarf” is accepted by most people with dwarfism. In other countries, People of Restricted Growth and Short Statured seem to be acceptable. The one thing that everyone can agree on is that most people would rather be referred to by their name than by a label. Wouldn't you? |

Calling someone a midget is considered offensive .calling someone a dwarf is now considered rude .
The correct term these days are little people .
They are human beings and all have a name .surely that's the way to go isn't it |

The word midget isn't just offensive, it's unlawful, just like the word nigger is offensive and unlawful.
It's one of the last offensive group terms to be irradicated, the only place you will see the word used now is on some porn sites. |

I think that this is something that's not really had any media coverage. There often seems to be question asked about what is the correct term to use. My favourite is "people".
