Whether she’s telling the truth is up to her. Your own health and contraception is in your hands.
I would be a bit wary of her pointing that out. Unless she wanted to reassure you that if the condom fails, she has added contraception. Just remember though, someone who’s willing to fuck you without protection, has probably done it before.
