Anyone heard of this?

Someone on another site (not here) is asking me to sign up for what they're calling a POP ID. This screams of a scam to me, the website they referred me to seems a bit amateur and doesn't appear to be secure. A quick Google finds a few reports that it is a scam, but there's also people saying it's legit?

Don't do it.

If someone directs you to another site from here or any other web site to "prove your identity" the only information you could possibly give would be the stuff that would enable them to steal your identity.

Just go on cam or meet for a coffee.

Of course it’s a scam.

Thought as much. But thought I'd ask in case anyone has actually used it and found it to be legit.

Scam, avoid. Don't go giving personal info to anyone you don't need to. Online, on the phone or at the door.
