Been asked to pay for lost earnings?

Just received an email from a couple I have been chatting with for a few weeks. They advised they would love to meet one morning but I need to cover £80 for their loss of earnings! Personally I feel this is a scam or am I wrong? The £80 gets me a hour with them at their home. As you can imagine I declined but offered to meet socially. They declined |

It could be a scam but even if it isn't it's a damn cheek. I personally wouldn't pay anything to meet a couple. |

They are obviously hoping that after 2 weeks of chatting some people will fall for it. |

Tell them to run and jump |

Tell them to do one! If they choose to not work when they should be and have that result in lost earnings purely to meet you then that is their fault, not yours! |

Also what job gets paid £40p/h? Assuming they both work and that fee is being split equally. Whatever job that is I need it |

Were the couple based in Nigeria.. prince and princess (insert name)
Sounds more like an escort than a swinging couple.. up to you, personally I'd be moving on. |

You should have said you are at consultant level in your field and charge £180 per hour. |

There's a huge difference between a contribution towards costs (e.g. half the cost of a hotel room) and paying for "loss of earnings" though - yes that could be described as a cost but you don't have to meet during work time |

Agree, but can only pay cash gotta be discreet, arrange meet, turn up, decide they're not fit for purpose and invoice for £189.95 for wasted time...
