Organised socials / what goes on?
Jump to: Newest in thread
This may sound odd, but what really goes on?
Is it really just meeting people & chatting?
I'm not keen on the club idea so thought a social may be a good place to go?
I feel sometimes people think we are fake. Even though we have been on here a while & have verification's & even been on cam.
Any advice & information would be much appreciated |

Yes, it's a group of people havung a drink and chatting. Usually it's in a pub or bar - sometimes a private function room, sometimes not - so no play at the social itself. However, people often travel a fair distance and stay overnight after the social, so it's not uncommon for there to be an afterparty where things are less vanilla. |

An organised social is exactly as you think its an opportunity to chat and meet others. I have been to socials in pubs before where the organiser has booked a function room. Nobody is expected to play although if the venue is in a swingers club the option is there if you need. |

"Thank you every one for your help / advice.
We will have to brave it one day & go to one
"
By all means, do!
I've been to quite a few socials, and it's great putting faces to names. Have developed quite a few friendships that way, if nothing more.
If nothing else, it's a fun night out where you can be/say what you like without fear of judgement. |

We recently held a social at our club for people that are wary of clubs - we gave everyone the option to stay on after if they wanted to. No play was allowed (play rooms were out of bounds) and it was a successful evening that put peoples mind at rest that were previously wary of clubs. |

Are there anymore of these nights planned?
How would we find out about these? |

I used to co host a monthly lunchtime social in a pub in Reading town centre. People used to pop in for a chat whilst out shopping. It's a great way to network without the pressure to play. |

There are several fairly regular socials in the south yorkshire area, organised by different people. Most are pure social non-play held in vanilla venues, some are held in clubs where there can be a play element later for those that wish. You actually just missed two socials held in Sheffield, the le chambre two weeks ago, and a different one in a pub-type venue just last weekend. There is one in Doncaster coming up in September, and Barnsley in October. There are also socials every few months in leeds, Manchester, Liverpool (getting a little further afield).
Invitations and signing up are usually via the forums, just do a forum search for "social" and pick something that is at a suitable location and date for you.
Note: if you do put your name down for a social, then please make the effort to attend or if you cancel give the organisers plenty of notice. I went to the Sheffield social last week which was a great event, but spoiled slightly for the organisers by a number of people just failing to show up without sending any apology. There was a lovely buffet laid on but a good deal of food left over. Too many no-shows can cause organisers to question the whole worth of putting on these events. |

some socials are held at clubs, the host will introduce you to all the others who have joined the list,
mostly just chat and getting to know others , but as you are in a club if you like another person / cple the option to play is there and often does |

I’ve not been to a club yet. Definitely recommend the group social s.
I had a great time at my last one. Never laughed so much. It was nice chatting to other single women too. |

"OP, Keep an eye on the Meet Requests and Parties in the forum as they are usually advertised there. Some are also advertised in the UK section. Think the York social is on soon as well"
Thank you |
