Hey guys,

So I'll need some advice on how to deal with leg cramps. The last two times I've had sex, I get sudden leg cramps that ruined the experience for me. Does anybody have that same problem and how do you deal with it or take measures to prevent it?

Sometimes U.K

"Magnisum tables and stretching your calf’s will help also getting enough water in this weather."

Good advice.

Have suffered for 40 years with leg cramps and now every night I have a large glass of water with a dissolving magnesium tablet. It definitely helps

Thanks all (and the OP for asking). I've had this at a couple of very inopportune moments.

A quick relief from cramp I have used deep heat spray it smells a little like germoline , be cautious where you spray it !! I imagine it would sting a little if you got it where you shouldn’t !!

I suffer from the same thing OP. It can be a real passion killer!

Drink tonic water, it has quinine in it which can prevent cramps. Failing that, your GP can prescribe quinine sulphate tablets which should do the trick. Hope that helps.

My mother in law and her mother (and to a lesser degree my husband) have Charcot-Marie-Tooth

They all suffer with "jumpy legs" (also called restless leg syndrome or involuntary leg spasms and leg cramps.

Both women found tonic water with quinine in helped and keeping their feet cool.

My husband on the other hand found that ensuring a better diet which included magnesium has alleviated all symptoms, tho should he get a bad night (which is very rare) eating a banana kills the cramps in about half an hour.

My Mum swore by this, had one every day to keep cramp away.

Bananas, eat a banana or 2 a day, stay hydrated and lower your salt intake. Of you're still getting cramps after that I'd see a doctor. Good luck

A few years ago i had this happen a couple of times then realised i had started wearing knee pads at work, stopped wearing them i was fine......then i had a day up a ladder with trainers on my feet same happened.

Apparently its caused by lack of oxygen/blood flow to muscles.

If this doesnt fit, then think about your position during the act and wheather you are restricting blood flow.

I hope this helps.

I’ve got this too at just the wrong moment - usually because I’ve not stretched properly after my last run *facepalms*

Unfortunately for me ‘ouch’ is not a safeword

Regular thing for me too, even though I eat bananas and vitamins ... it's one of the (many!) reasons I have no sex life.

When I sit down I can see my calf muscles twitching and rippling. I'm likely to get it if I move at all suddenly or awkwardly. Really annoying.

Quick cheap and easy. Lick a pinch of salt from the palm of your hand and wash it down with water. This works very quickly, but only if you have been sweating and not replaced the lost salt - sweat tastes of salt. If this doesn't work, try any or all of the above

Seriously cut down on salt, and potassium and magnesium found in bananas may help. But quinine will definitely help if the above doesn't. If you want any advice pm me.

ask your gp about Ropinirol tablets. They are not habbit forming,, and work better than any other I have tried in many many years. For RLS, (restless legs syndrome) and cramps.

Is it just one calf, or both OP? If just one, (esp the right calf) it could be a symptom of something more sinister. My story is similar to yours, and mine turned out to be a DVT.

I was told it was likely to be a calcium and salt deficiency when I used to suffer. So I used to eat a bag of crisps and two dairylea triangles a day (random ) and didn’t suffer.

You’re welcome
