being a newbie i thought i would like to try a club,but have no idea of protocol,ie do you get your kit off when you go in,or only if you are going to join in the fun,can you just go for a drink and see what its like, some advice please ????? |

Isis is my local too. 
Its a small club so you walk into the bar area (take your opwn booze!) You can sit and chat as long as you like. If you decide you want to play there is a dressing gown and towel in your locker, then you go to the playrooms at the back.
I've been on evening where several people didn't even get changed, just chatted with others. There is no pressure to play at all. |

Lacey, there are much better clubs out there than Isis, you might have to travel a bit further than leeds, but it will be worth it. We recommend you goto La Chambre in Sheffield or visit the Paradise or Infusions in Blackpool.
We also heard a rumour from a couple at Erotica that Isis is closing, so if you do go there make sure you get phone contact from them first.

If it is, they're keeping very quiet about it. This week is their 10th anniversary so they must be doing something right.
They might not be a huge boutique club, or have tons of couples, but they are friendly, fun, and one of the few clubs I will go to alone. Neither Chams not Le Chambre made me feel that welcome when I was there. Isis always does, |

Yes I agree.
I checked it as soon as I got home and people have been there very recently so maybe they got the name of the club mixed up as I am pretty sure there isnt another club with that name altough I could be wrong.
If you know more please tell me. I would agree the club is very friendly and it is, as said above, possible to get lost in the throng in a big club when its busy. |

I'll ask some sneaky questions when I am there this Friday. They were refurbishing recently, and there were rumours that it might move to bigger premises, but with the recession I suspect thats on hold. Anyway its fine for me. Small but perfectly formed.  |

I would have hoped that someone who produces a club review publication would have checked their facts before commenting in a public forum.
It doesn't bode well for your publication if you're not well informed.  |

I clearly stated this was a rumour and simply advised the person to check ahead, which is good advice, espeically for someone new. It would have sucked if someone new to the scene and gone to a club and it had been closed, as happenend with several people with the 101 club earlier this year.
We hope the club hasn't shut down and we know the guy who runs it is a friendly chap and they attract a friendly crowd and some friends of ours who went very recently thought it was great and gave it a favourable review. |

I would have thought that your advice might have been better in a private message as putting doubts in public forums does tend to create the rumours which cause clubs to close.
That would put you out of print too! |

I did actually send a much longer message privately when I had a bit more time later in the day and I dont always get time to do that. I agree, the prudent thing would have been to phone the club myself to check, fortunately there is normally someone on here who will usally pipe up and confirm something, and they did and thats great. Thats why a right to reply and a forum is useful.
There's 700 clubs in Western Europe, with an average of 20 opening and ten closing every six months.
We can't print them all fast enough, thats why we are doing updated PDF's as after support.
Now it sounds like we are going to have to do a Russian one, yes there are clubs in Russia opening too.....

Definitely is. I'd love to try Le Chambre on a Friday but life keeps getting in the way. Also its a bugger to get to and from when you don't have a car. |

If it helps, when we visited LC, we stayed at a hotel in town and the taxi to the club was £8 (That was a year and a half ago)
There is a much closer hotel nearer the venue (Between it and MeadowHall)
Bearing in the mind the cost for single fems to the club, your hotel there is your major expense. Dare say you would all have some offers from people to put you up though! |
