As a bloke, I was somewhat optimistic and decided to post a meet for Monday.
Unsurprisingly it attracted no interest. Do women ever look at the meets or do they select their prey in a different manner?
If blokes post meets do they come across as desperate?
(I deleted my meet as it just sat there doing nothing ) |

I can only speak for myself. I hardly ever message a single guy from here, as I have enough messages from guys asking for meets. So I don't need to go looking. Might be very similar to most (all?) women here.
Maybe try a club or organised social in your area? |

I would never contact a guy I didn’t know advertising for a private meet that way. If it was a club meet & I was going to be at the same event, I might drop him a message to say hi, but I only meet people privately if I already know them.
If a private meet popped up in my ‘friends updates’ from someone I’ve played with, then I might do.
We are all different in how we look for & plan meets though! |

Did you mention cake in your post? Women skim read these things and ‘cake’ always grabs their attention......... |

It's very similar when we post and when we have replied to occaisonal guy they must have thought we were fakes. So basically gave up quite a while ago.
Basic communication on fab seems to be a lost or a black art.

If we happened to be available we would respond to a meet status posted by a single guy on our friends list. It’s never happened though because we’re never free when others are. We have little bit interest in meeting men we don’t know though. I don’t see it necessarily as desperate - some of the guys we play with do post when it’s too short notice to make arrangements in the normal, and they are certainly not desperate. On the whole of we are at a loose end we would use the meet section for party meets.

The first time I planned on visiting a club, I saw a woman asking for anyone going on that night, to ‘get in touch and say hello’, which I did, explaining that it was my first time in a club, and I was quite nervous, here’s my face pic, perhaps I’ll see you in there? She read my message, but didn’t reply. On the actual night, she did spot me in there, but blanked me because she turned up with another guy. Guess she was just hedging her bets |

Sometime I see the same faces post meets every week and I’m like nah but then someone eye catching pops up and i’ll message them. Its not desperate unless you make it sound desperate. X

It is a area of the site that serves the fundamental function of meets on a swinging site.
As a couple we always have a scan through when looking to met guys. And we use it to put a meet ad on, usually at quite short notice, as that seems to work better.
Not sure why you might think it is desperate to post an ad for a meet on a swinging site unless you have spent far too much time in the forums being brainwashed that everybody must meet by a generic code! |

All fair comments, it works for some not for others, pretty much like every area of fab!
I'll mention cake the next time I put up anything about a meet. Schoolboy error on my part |

I never look at Meets and would never post one. It's not my kind of thing and the people that post them wouldn't like me. |

Wow, that’s just bloody rude IMO |

Completely, but her loss. I also responded to a single female looking for ‘a hottie’ to join her and a couple for an evening in Pandora last year. I was staying in Leeds that weekend, so sent a similar message, including face pic to her. She read the message, but again, no reply. I obviously wasn’t ‘hot’ enough for her either. A ‘Thanks but no’ would have been polite, but the block button helps you move on
Is it actually worth a single guy posting up a club meet, does anyone take any notice? |

"I do. But had I seen Your meet request and I had wanted to meet I’d have looked at your profile to see you’re not meeting and I would have been confused and instantly bored.

I have rectified that mistake,.back to my normal profile... |

Even if you post a meet and it sits there and gets no response, you still haven't lost anything.
There is always the chance that somebody may respond.
So personally, I don't see the harm in you putting it out there to see what happens. |

The only meet posts we see as desperate are the ones that say "looking for anything anywhere".
Just persevere and see what comes along... |

Guess it depends on how many they put up a week, I have a mate who puts up quite a few and to me it seems off putting he is a good looking guy and has no problems getting meets so I don't see the point, to me he should pick a lady who he has been after and just ask her out.
I don't/wouldn't answer to one even if I really wanted the guy I want to be the one he asks not just anyone. |

But listing club meets is ok then? |

It made no difference
I'll stick to my tried and tested method of not actively seeking meets and not messaging anyone. It has the same level of success |

Absolutely!
Timing is everything too. It will all work out when it is meant to work out. I'll take up the right offer when the time and people are right. Any hole isn't a goal. |

Yeah, midweek ads in the winter alongside bad weather are highly speculative. Weekends and warmer days more conducive to success. |

Sorry to hear that OP, but I'm also less than surprised. I have a club meet listed up at the moment myself, which has also scored high up on the indifference chart |

With the forecast for the weekend what it is, I've cancelled my club meet listing for Saturday, and will try again when things improve |

I have responded to and met men from meet requests. Not just a case of 'I see you're looking for a meet, let's do it'... More of a 'I see you're looking for a meet, and I like the look of you/your profile, would you like to chat?' |
