The Journey to being a Dom

I have met a women who has been a sub to two men previously. She would like me to be her new Dom. Now I'm no stranger to the alternative lifestyle and have had several MFM and FFM threesomes and been to some swinging nights but have never been what you I would call a Dom, however I want to try this and really like this woman. What is the best way in anyones experience out there of establishing what we both want before going ahead and how grey we should start and how black we should go. She wants to visit some S&M nights to watch (not take part) so what can you FABBERS recommend in the north west (Chester, Wirral, Cheshire) for clubs and events. All advice and opinions welcome guys.

Wherever the party is!

Your nearest munch would be a good place to start.

Second that. Get on fetlife and find your nearest munch. Or ask your partner. She's been on the scene before.

Thanks guys. I definitely think a you're right. I've researched the two closest Munch's (Town House seems like a good one. Has anyone else been there?) and we are talking about limits and desires. I just wondered if I was missing something. I guess it also takes time while we both discover moire about ourselves.

You could google a boom by Jay Wiseman called SM 101. Very interesting and thorough. There are also lots of blogs out there but Fetlife is a good start to echo a previous post.

Start by finding out what your partner wants and have a long think about what you might like.

Then match the two. Start there. Then experiment. Have fun. Your not a dom until you have some semblance of what your doing, until then just have fun with it and let your experiments bring you together and develop the trust.

Google bdsm checklist.

Research each part of it so you understand what it is.

Ask your partner to fill it out and discuss each element.

Prioritise the list according to interests, practicality and comfort levels, start learning about those things at the top of the list and work your way down

Discuss basic safety and safe words (just use the traffic light system it's by far the easiest).

Go to a few munches and start exploring togther at a oace ypi are both comfortable with. Townhouse has a really good rep though we've never been.

Good luck it's a mission and a half! Lol
