"hiya,is it considered to be pushy when someone winks you and you reply with a polite msg,or should you just wink back and wait for them to send the 1st msg?" No right or wrong. Do what you think is best for you op |

I ignore winks, if someone is interested then they should take the time to send a message saying so! |

When I receive a wink, I respond with a 'Thanks for the wink' message, and ask if it was because they liked what they read or saw on my profile or in a forum post...
....sometimes I get a reply saying yes, they liked whichever it was, but equally sometimes I don't get anything - which makes me wonder why they bothered winking in the first place! |

For me winks are like making eye contact and smiling in real life.
You can wink (smile) back, showing a little interest so that they know there will be a warm welcome to their message.
Or if there is something that catches your eye about the person sending it jump straight in and start the conversation yourself.

I generally consider a wink a bit like flirting. If someone winks us and either of us like the look of their profile, we'll message back. If we come across someones profile we like the look of, we'll give them a wink and if they like the look of us, they'll message back. It's all good, don't see any harm in it. D |

Hi
We like to wink as it shows our initial interest. We say in our profile that if you like us wink back and we'll message back. (Also shows that at least a bit of our profile has been read)!
Saves the initial random message from us and therefore saves our time too.
Don't think, as others have said, there is a right or wrong answer for using winks.
Happy winking

If I get a wink.. I wink back if I think we've got potential.. but I'll wait for the message.. they initiated it. I like to be chased too you know.
If they don't message in a day or so.. my curiosity gets the better of me and I'll message.
If I wink.. I'm looking for the wink back. If I get, I message.
There are no rules. Sometimes I'll message unsolicited.. but not often.. I like a bit of build up, or water testing.
Nobody is overly fond of being rejected. Some clearly don't give a fuck one way or the other.

If we wink and get one back we will usually send the first message if folk wink at us we wink bk if interested with a thanks for the wink message.... Then we take it from there and if after 3 messages there's nothing realy to reply to or anything to direct a conversation (often they usually contain less than 5 words compared to our well constructed personality revealing messages).... Then we just give up lol.... We realy hate the hi... Messages lol were not passing in the street or or waiting for a bus ffs lol... So let's all wink away and see if our eyes still hurt lol |

We kinda use the wink button as in we like what we see, but that's not always reciprocal. So if we receive a wink back then we will send a message.
We find it's better than sending a message first then the poor buggers throwing their eyes up to the sky and thinking "we better message these munters a polite "No thanks" |

"Wow. Thank you for the compliment "
You're more than welcome - gorgeous body, lovely legs, and great boots!
Wanted to be clever and say it's now 715 - but as I'm outside your age range, it wouldn't let me wink at you! |

If I get a wink I always look at the persons profile, and unless irredeemably horrible try to reply with an encouraging message. Although in the case of single men, this is quite often along the lines of "read my profile, take note, fix up your own profile and then message me".
Sometimes I get nice replies. Sometimes the winker just goes silent.
Once the winker was a closet TV asking on their profile for advice, I wrote a quite long helpful message, and within seconds they went UNLOS! And it wasn't a fly-by-night profile, apparently they had joined at least six months earlier. All I can assume is that they had been winking people for six months without a single reply, and went into terminal shock when somebody actually bothered to respond... |

I would say in an ideal world:
Interested party: winks first
Other Party: Checks interested parties well written and detailed profile plus good clear photos. Other party winks back if attraction is mutual.
Interested party: Then sends first message.
I think people should use winks more to establish mutual attraction before expending energy on unwanted messages. |

I know I wink people when I’m having a naughty quick browse at work and stumble across someone I like the look of but don’t have the time to write a message. Hopefully they get back to me, either just a wink or message so I can then follow up again later |
