So.... This is a hypothetical question, what would you do if you found out that your reputation had been tarnished by sneaky PM's and Chat Room Gossip?
1.Is it a case of ignore it? (We are a small community after all)
2. Close account, wait a while and then "reinvent" yourself.
or
3. Make a statement on your profile or status, without naming, that certain gossips, should get a life?
All hypothetical of course....  |

Wish I could answer - but gut instinct is to "hypotetically" ignore it.
This has happened to "a friend  " just this week. "My friend" has absolutely no idea why.
Its sometimes not that easy though.

Find out who it was, hunt them down and get my revenge muahahaha.....
No I'd ask those that told me to report it to the admins but certainly I wouldn't close my account (looks like the _umours are true if do that!) and I wouldn't give them satisfaction of knowing they'd got to me by putting something on the profile. |

Make a statemewnt on my profile and on the forums and go into chat and inform everyone that the _umours circulating about me were completely and utterly true

Happened to us... Ppl assuming things and not looking at the full story... Way I see it they have very little guts that they couldn't approach us and speak to us... |

People will always tell other people things about folk that isn't true. It's done on here, it's done in everyday life away from the web, it's just the way some people are and always will be.
Agree with jands, in that, folk should be more upfront and speak to the person concerned and find out the truth before spreading the _umours around. |

I`ve had _umours spread around that myself and another person were "an item" when I had only given them a lift and a room share on a couple of occasions! Thankfully, not malicious, but it just goes to show what can happen!
It is surprising how quickly people pick up on what you post to whom and if you "target" anyone, friendly or otherwise! Two and two get put together but often they come with five |

I recently added to my profile that I am not meeting... basically I've found some one very special, and we're going to be exclusive for the forseeable future.
A lady mailed me asking if the not meet part was going to change. On saying thanks, but no thanks, she proceeds to msg the lady I'm with and started saying we'd arranged a meet, and how Id been reluctant, but like all men...
Funny thing is I'm meant to be meeting this new woman when I'll be with my regular special lady... |

must admit I've heard some that like to rope others in on these sort of games, and I can never understand why the ringleaders do it, or what they get out of it, other than controlling the behaviour of people - all in all, pretty saddening really, but hey their kink isn't my kink... lol
Sometimes the _umours are better than the facts... reckon there's a few really missed their opening as storywriters... lol
