Does being given a collar mean you are sub? Or 'owned'?
I know that there are different collars for different purposes, but is accepting the gift of a collar a significant statement?

If nothing was said when the collar was given then I'd assume the person giving the collar thinks they look nice and nothing more.
Anything else is usually agreed between both parties and there are many different types of collar with many different meanings. If that was the route chosen by the people involved. |

Not always, I expressed an interest in a slut collar once on the other fetish lifestyle site, and my friends Dom at the time bought it me as a gift, a piece of jewellery. No strings attached.
But if a Dom/me is wanting to give you a collar it's best to discuss what exactly it means to them and you.

To be collared is the equivalent in bdsm circles to being engaged or married, it signifies being submissive or in an alternative relationship.
