Hi, I am a single guy that's been on fab for a while. My luck has been mixed in which I have had some really good meets but then on the other hands it's a struggled to get genuine hot couples/women to talk with the fear you one of those fab 'weirdos'.
Ideally I want to dip my feet into the club scene and get a feel for what it's all about as well as private parties however I have no real clue about how to do this and feel a little intimidated going to a club on my own initially. Any advice for a genuine guy just looking to push some boundaries
Cheers |

It's scary, but there's no need for it to be. Smile, talk to people, ask for help if you don't know something and see how it goes.
If you don't end up doing anything at least you won't be so scared next time. |

Search the forums for ‘single guy clubs alone’, there has been plenty of good advice posted.
I’m a little concerned about you using the term ‘hot couple’ though, as in my experience, flexibility in your expectations of who visits clubs would be a good tip
Good luck |

There are lots of posts about this with some very good and some bad advice on the subject. Look closely at who is giving the advice and what the advice is before taking it on board. Hope that helps. |

I feel exactly the same! I would love to try but dont want to look like some dedperado turning up on my own. I'm also really quite shy (only initially) so just walking in and striking up conversation wouldnt work for me. I am however good fun and not shy once I've found my feet |

Visiting a club as single woman, while still daunting, is nowhere near as bad as the experience will be for a single male. Once inside, a single woman will be looked after by the staff if she needs be, but generally there will be other females and couples who will flock to her side. Single men tend to gain a virtual ‘cloak of invisibility’, or they wander the ‘No-man’s land’ territory of trying to strike up conversation without appearing overly-confident and pushy. |

Id say go... As a single lady it certainly seems to be the place to be. I found as a single guy going in both places couples just ignored you as if you were not there and the single ladies were never left on their own. So just go to one that looks friendly enough. They do have different types of nights too, so pick carefully which night you go on for your first time. |

I sometimes buddy on the newbies and notso’s night at the townhouse. You should come along on a Wednesday night keep an eye out in the forums for the next one. None member single guys need to book in with the club before 12 on the day. You will be given a tour round and all rules fully explained. Who ever is on that night either hosts jester and lilac ( really friendly couple) or a buddy will look after you and introduce you to other members of the club. You will not be left in a corner. |

"Townhouse do a Newbies and Not So night on a Wednesday (have a look at their website for details as you need to book in as a single guy) which might help you dip your toe in the waters. "
Do you ever go any in Manchester? |

I'm assuming that reply was meant for me
I don't know of any newbie specific events in Manchester (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong fabbers).
There are events at Cupids where even as a single guy you don't have to be a member to go. I know you don't for MOTD and I can highly recommend it as a fantabulous way to spend a Tuesday daytime |

Just go along to the place that best seems to fit your tastes, budget and location. If you take the assumption that you are engaging upon an adventure, where you will discover people who are largely similar to you but are enjoying something more in life, you will leave as someone with more experience behind you.
Be open to people and friendly but take no self-pressure that it's more than an adventure. At one level, it's a group of people who are socializing, maybe having a drink. You'll have done the same on many occasions.
Look around and notice how people behave, what the place offers. Ensure you are respectful and treat your first visit as fact finding and a chance to relax amongst people who have let their hair down too. If there's a facility like a hot tub, use it for relaxation, so you get more benefits from your visit.
On subsequent visits you will know the form and potentially some people there. The only pressure you will face is from yourself but as an adult, you will already have taken on board the responsibilities of sometimes doing things that are less comfortable, towards making your life better. |

They’re all expensive for single men; if you’ve had any change from £50 the first time you sign in, you’ll be doing well, although if it’s a BYO place you may need that change for corkage |

No, I see that now. I was just speaking from experience of the other clubs I’ve been to. I’ve only been put off TH because of the 2 hour drive for me, and they had that restriction on 40+ single guys for a while |

Atlantis in Stoke, that I believe you have visited, is £40, that's lifetime membership entry on the night and no corkage. So why moan about club's being so expensive for single guys. |

FWIW I've never had women or couples 'flock to my side' when visiting a club. |

I was in the same situation as you but plucked up the courage and went to Decadence on a Monday afternoon and was made very welcome immediately. It’s £20 but I love the place. Due to work I can only go in on a Monday afternoon and it may be quiet, but if you want to join me OP you’re more than welcome |

Yes Lizzy, you know I’ve been to Atlantis, and you also know my thoughts on the experience. £40 for a single guy, is more expensive than £25 for a couple, or £10 for a single female, right? |

Perhaps a slight over-exaggeration from me, but I’ve not seen women left to sit by themselves, or wander the playrooms alone |

£30 entry fee for single men, the other £10 is your lifetime membership fee. |
