SWINGERS ? or not ?

"Yeah after quite a few years in this life we had kind of figured that one out ..... i meant in general life or when in new company or on holiday etc etc"
Why do you feel the need to? Are there not enough swingers in the lifestyle? Never understand the obsession people have with trying to 'spot the swinger' in everyday life. |

"Mainly because we are going away for a fortnight and would like some fun while away but perhaps you are too insular to understand that"
Well look for Fab members and clubs in the area you are going to, don't insult other members replying to your post by calling them insular.
You can't generally spot swingers in the vanilla world, a lot of, people like to be discreet. XXX

This! We don't generally advertise that we swing and if we met someone making it abundantly clear they were looking for swingers in a vanilla setting we'd give them a wide berth. Use the meets and club sections and country forums and use the search function to find people or clubs and beaches in advance. |

If you’re going away then why don’t you advertise for a meet at the location? Very few people wander around Waitrose wearing “it’s not cheating if my husband watches” t-shirts on |

This.
Some people are utterly clueless about discretion. The types that give swinging a bad name. |

We were approached on holiday once, we didn't appreciate it for several reasons.
If you're going away why not have a look in the forum pertaining to the area you're visiting? |

If being insular means being respectful of peoples privacy away from the scene then I'd rather be that than lacking in discretion.
This is why the two worlds should be kept apart. Some people only see things from their own point of view. How ironic your chouce of words!
Who wants some random couple approaching them when out?
You didnt answer my question tho. If you are going away to a different town just change your location. Why need to know that people are swingers in vanilla land? |

"What advice would you give on how to spot other swingers or how to bring up the subject ????"
Personally I'd stick with knowing that folk on Fab and those in Swingers clubs are swingers. If you're happy to let people know that you're swingers then shout it from the tree-tops and other swingers could "out themselves" to you if they want to.

If we go away and are hoping to meet some likeminded folk while there then we post in the relevant geographical area on the forums, it’s worked for us in three different locations now. We also use the ‘who’s near’ feature whilst there and will wink at or message anyone that we like the look of in the area and see what happens. We don’t advertise that we are into the lifestyle and if we were approached I probably wouldn’t admit it anyway. |

I don't know. I think most people wouldn't like being approached by strangers being asked if they swing even if they did. Unless they were openly advertising it.
But that's just my opinion

When on holiday I shove some pampas grass out the back of my trunks, not only does it let all and sundry know I swing but it also sweeps the beach of debris as I strut my stuff allowing me to clear a towel space both easily and provocatively.

We tend to look on Fab at areas we're visiting and maybe drop a note to those we are interested in.
We did accidentally meet a couple recently at a non scene place and only guessed by names of clubs dropped casually into conversation. Subsequent reviews of this (naturist) place gave our respective games away.

Don't do it, it's bad manners and intrusive. Unless we're in 'swinger mode', ie, being in a club or on an arranged meet, some random, enthusiastic swingers approaching us outside said parameters wouldn't be welcomed in the slightest. |

You can't spot them. If you tried and found out that they weren't you could end up causing some upset. We once met a swedish couple on holiday. We so wanted to know if they might be up for play but couldn't bring ourselves to ask. It will always be a question of unrequited passion LOL.
My suggestion would be get your lovely wife an anklet chain. It's supposed to be a bit of a giveaway and might lead to some naughty innuendo that leads you to think you are being hit on and can return the flirting.

Oh yeah use the mobile website to see who is near. Just type www.m. in front of fabswingers and you are in. Have your phone set so that GPS location is available. |

We were sat buying tyres for our campervan and a truck driver wandered over and made conversation. Turns out he recognised Michelle somehow from our pics as he was a fabber too. Chat turned to play for her and him in the cab of his truck. So we were glad to be approached. But then it would be boring if everyone was the same. |
