Does anything exactly get done?

I've had a few guys waste my time in the past few months and reported all of them

Yet still see them active on my local updates

You Dont Need to Know, right now

I don't think we'll ever know, what standard of proof Admin need, before they take action. People use the word 'timewaster' to mean many things - I would suggest there is only 1 meaning - "Made a definite arrangement to meet, and didn't turn up, with no prior cancellation". But I'm sure Admin won't suspend a profile, based solely on one report from one person (which, after all, could be malicious). Admin will be looking for a pattern of behaviour, probably reports by different people, on different days.

I would recommend that EVERYONE always reports anyone who made a definite arrangement to meet, and then didn't turn up, with no prior cancellation. The reporting system will only work, if we ALL use it.

That tattoedtess has wasted my time and I've reported her to admin so I hope they ban her!

Obviously not true but you get the point as it could be someone with a vendetta or just plain jealous.

It's a shame it happens though

Though frustrating it must be having been the victim of time wasters, what action can the site take against known/repeat offenders ?

I have a few added to block list, not for any badness, but if their constant, near hourly status updates and delete/repost same pictures is clearly an attempt to seek attention, adding them to block list stops them appearing on my updates

this is the problem tho , most don't bother to report no shows and so leaves everyone else open to have time wasted , if we all reported I'm sure admin wud do more and make this site a better place for all us genuine people ,

My FB just emailed the administrator when her pictures appeared on another profile and then their account disappeared within a day.

We had someone contact us within the least few days.... it was a nice message so we responded. Then we got a rant back saying we are fake as the last time we cammed was two years ago (we have a statement saying we aren’t meeting at the mo!) They said they reported us for wasting time then blocked us!

I guess the point on sharing this is that some people could be vindictive and cause issues for others based on their opinion. Sad really x

Ohhh for some reason I thought admins had access to back and forth messages so could actually see what was being said between people.

I've had someone arrange a meet, then as I messaged to say I was leaving home they hide their profile.

Luckily I straight away knew what it meant and got back into bed lol 10 minutes later they had blocked me.

I'd say it was my own fault for not exchanging numbers which I usually do but I've even had guys who I've exchanged numbers with do the same thing

Pull up a sandbag, we could tell you a few good 'uns about timewasters....

Nothing can be done because you cannot name and shame, it's against the rules.

Upshot is, we're just like social members on here, could count on three fingers the number of meets we've been to with contacts from Fab

That said, this isn't actually the worst site for timewasters!

What is your definition of time wasting OP? I think it's when you arrange to meet and it's a no show or radio silence when the date time is set.

I think you’ve just got to suck it up as part of life on here. Phone number and face pic early on, followed by a chat on phone I think is a good way to gauge their veracity, scares off the fake females on her.

I’ve turned up to a meet before where the lady bore only a remote resemblance to her pics, if they were her it was 15 years and eight stones earlier. I left without playing, subsequently she messaged me complaining I’d wasted her time. Would it be fair to be labelled a timewaster?

Not everyone will give out their ohone number. Doesn't mean they are necessarily fake.

I think people need to think about their selection criteria if this happens a lot. We’ve never had a no show, and every private meet we have had via Fab has been successful.

No it would. It has alrrady been defined on the thread as to what I would refer to as a timewaster

Admin have a major job to do, so get on with it behind the scenes - reports and investigations are part of their work. Not all reports will be clear-cut cases or have staff immediately able to check , especially if arrangements are made off-site. Sometimes we have to expect that what we users report can only be taken as information - if the other person does nothing further wrong, it's feasible that they could continue here. If they are serial wrongdoers, a pattern will establish.

O o O oo

Here is an explanation from Admin from another thread on how they deal with reports.

******Just a quick note. If people report others and we can verify that they have broken site rules, we always take action (either a first and final warning, partially suspended account, fully suspended, mixture of the above).

Every single report sent via the REPORT link is reviewed. Clearly it's not in our interests to have people on here who are bad for the site. Equally we need to verify what has been reported and be fair to those who have been reported.

Admin

PS. we never provide feedback on what has happened. It's just not practical given that we get 100s of reports a day.

Here is what the page says after a report has been submitted:

--

Your feedback has been saved.

A website admin will shortly review your feedback and take the necessary action. After reviewing the evidence available to us, we may disable an account, remove a user, disable certain aspects of that user's account or issue a warning.

By leaving feedback you help improve the site for everyone who uses it. Thank you.******
