Not sure if this is the right place to post/if its been discussed before.
Does anyone else not get worried about getting STD/STI's in this scene? I havent embarked yet on my journey meeting people, but I see a lot of bareback images with multiple guys on a girl etc and obviously theres a lot of oral that goes on in meets, so obviously the chances of getting something increases very high.
Im sure everyone likes to look after their health on here, but is it just something that Im worrying about or is it always on the back of your mind also? Im interested to hear what people think |

Well done you for posting this.
May I suggest you find your local sexual health clinic, book an appointment to discuse your concerns.
They are incredibly helpful and it's totally confidential.
They can advise on a course of vaccines which is recommended. Sounds scary but it's just a precaution.
They can supply free condoms and lube.
Good luck OP and go book that appt xxx

You can only protect yourself, what other people do is up to them.
If someone has a lot of bareback pics and it's not your thing, just find someone else who doesn't.
If you're worried about sti/std's just make sure you always use protection, and get yourself tested every few months to reduce any risk.
The only 100% way to avoid any risk is don't have sex. Even condoms don't eliminate all risk, so whenever you have sex there will always be a small chance anyway.

If you think about it we take risks every time we step outside the front door but we mitigate them by taking sensible precautions.
I won't go mountain climbing because I think the risks are too high but I will fly. Its the same for swinging weigh up the risks and make your decision. |

OP you have been given some very good advice already.
It is advisable to do as much research as possible and then you can make an informed decision on what level if risk you are prepared to take.
Meeting someone from the swinging scene is probably no more risky than meting someone out in the real world. You can't know for sure that anyone is "clean" no matter where you meet them, you only have their word that they have been tested regularly and are sti free.
The only safe sex is no sex, but you can minimise the risks by playing safer and using a condom and dental dams.
I take personal responsibility for my own sexual health and try not to worry too much about how others choose to play. If they don't like the way I play then we are not compatible. |

We are mindful of the risks but take steps to minimise them, if you are still concerned then maybe swinging isn't for you.
We get tested every 3 months, use condoms for penetration and avoid profiles along the lines you mention. If we feel we need to ask questions to understand someone else's attitude to risk then we'll do that gently, if they get huffy about it that tells us all we need to know. |

There is no harm in going to a gum clinic. I used to every month or two as after a blow job I would still want to know I was clear. I did calm down on it but would still go probably every 4-5 months or at least 1/2 yearly. |

Excellent advice from everyone, thanks very much! Very interesting to hear other peoples attitudes towards it and the steps people take. Ive never been to a GUM clinic in my life as any partner ive been with has always been clean/free etc. Maybe i should start to go and get checked out every few months as people seem to do once I start my journey ans meeting people.
This forum is fantastic for advice, thanks again everyone for your input, i appreciate it! |

OP don't wait until you start meeting people on here, plan a visit just to be sure. It is a good habit to get into.
You previous partners may have been carrying something without knowing and could have passed it on to you. Many sti's don't have obvious symptoms and the only way to be certain is to be tested.
As well as practicing safer sex every sexually active person should make a habit of being tested before each new partner if they are monogamous and having regular tests if they have more than one partner at once. |

I was just going to suggest you go to the GUM clinic to get checked before you start your swinging fun. You don't know the full sexual history of previous partners, so start out knowing you are clear and get advise from the health professionals. |

Likewise... I used to get tested every six months (when the clocks change as my cue) but the clinic said there are so many good treatments out there now that should you catch anything, best to treat it immediately. The nurse recommended every three months... |
